I bet his doctor set him up... :lol injected him while he was inspecting the hip.
ok... on a serious note... I hope there was a mistake.. this is going to make us look bad. It's going to be sad one day... they'll probably let performance enhancing drugs into sports... and then the only way to compete will be by taking them. ::)

Probably the same thing that happened to Armstrong last year...I doubt anything will come of it. I too find it fishy that they always wait untill AFTER the guy wins the race to say he failed a test (just like Armstrong if I remember right).

yea he claims he just has higher levels of testosterone than the average joe

I would say 80% of cyclists are doping, and maybe up to 40% in baseball are doping.

This isnt much of a suprise to me

Hmm, I would say in baseball only around 20% while the rest take legal supplements.

that was just on the news haha good timeing

why do people do drugs seriously they do all this training then take drugs when they know there is going to be drugs tests

Well.....hes gone out and stated all over the place that he wasnt taking performance-enhancing drugs and that he had an explanation for it....we'll have to see.

here's something that everyone should understand about drug tests for Cyclists. Officials will take two samples from an athlete, they'll label them Sample A and Sample B. Sample A is tested directly after the race. Landis Test A sample came back positive for enhanced levels of a certain type of testosterone normally attributed to steroid use. Landis is disputing the results of Sample A because his Cortizone pain medication, which was authorized for use by the Tour de France officials, can produce an enhanced testosterone output for short periods.

Landis will now get Sample B tested, which will be well after the race is concluded. If the results of that test show up negative, then it proves that the Sample A was simply the result of an extremely long workout(which increases Testosterone output as well), coupled with a side effect of his Cortizone shots.

Note that virtually all cyclists who have disputed a positive doping test have prevailed. I believe this is another case of American witch hunting by the Tour and basically just sour grapes from a country that can't produce a cyclist of its own worth anything. Lance Armstrong passed every single drug test that was ever given him, he was the most tested athlete on the Tour with over 75 individual drug tests during 2005 alone, yet even with all the evidence that Armstrong was not doping, the French media and other bandwagoners continued to accuse Armstrong without any evidence to support their claims.

We will see with Landis, but I have faith he will prevail and put another stake in the heart of the hate-America crowd.

man Rocky... I hope you are right on that. This time... it could be bad.

Seems the tests determined that it's synthetic.

Now... I am curious... with all those people unhappy with Americans... I wonder if anyone would ever taint a sample... somehow.

There ya go :)

bummer... I still wonder if someone could taint the supply (even though the chance is slight), to make the American rider look bad.

I mean I doubt it.... but you just never know... it COULD happen.

It sucks though, the Americans already have a bad enough image as it is.

I bet we wont know a true winner for another 6 months, after those stupid appeals are finished........

I really wish he would just confess, though, if he did do it.

But if he has naturally high levels like he is claiming, then both samples should come back positive, but who knows anymore

This is horrible news!

Here's something I don't get, Landis was tested 8 other times during the TdF and passed all those tests! We're supposed to believe that he took steroids right before the end of the race?? This is foul play or Landis is a liar. We will find out which one in the coming months, but by then nobody will care.

Well, he did fall way behind there for a while.........but i dont know what leg that was so I dont know if it was before or after that section.
