Virtual Console Games... Why not add online support?

Why not? Why couldn't they make F-zero, Goldeneye (if it hits the wii VC), perfect dark (same), bomberman '93 online.... AND MANY MORE.

Why couldn't this be done. True it would take some extra work... but you know, if they added online play to these games, you know how many more they would sell? Sales would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Do you think this will every happen? Discuss / post it up :)

It would probably take a lot more money then they would like to spend to hire teams to actually code these games for online play. That would be my theory on "why not?"
 
If ZSNES can allow one to play Seiken Densetsu very easily or ANY other game for that matter without much effort, I'm sure Nintendo could hook these up via emulator/WiiConnect very easily as well. I buy not the "too much work" answer.

Im with you. They could do it but it would be time and money. They would most likely need a server to handle matching the VC people up as well.

I've been thinking about this since launch. Yeah, that'd be awesome to play people Goldeeye and F-zero online. And I don't think it'd require too much more support.
 
Well, all one needs to do from a programming point of view is change the ports to "virtual ports". It's easy as pie.

I'm sure they've thought of this. They're a huge group of talented people, someone up there's got this idea spinning around.

However, I'm not surprised to see it lacking in LAUNCH VC titles. That's not surprising at all. I'd anticipate that they would want to have their network up (WiiConnect24) before they even bother with this. This is what they're waiting for I imagine.

I'm thinkin the same. Plus, they wanna make sure everything online-wise is going good and running great before they start throwing more factors in like online gaming. At least I'd imagine so.

I had a dream I was playing the Wii after I got it Sunday...hopefully it was a premonition of things to come at the end of the week.
