Ares God Of War
I spent all night trying to get rid of

Email-Worm.Win32.Brontok.a

off my pc... i had a ton of files infected by it.

Thanks to Kaspersky and about 7 other programs i had to install IM FREE!

haha

anyone else ever go through this?

yeah i got the wolfhound virus a couple of years ago

screen just went red and it said i had it

i ran the system restore kit, and somehow i did the whole thing without my mom finding out

The virus I had worked like this:

It would say I was infected.
then i would spend about half hour fixing it then every time I rebooted it would be infected again.

it turned out it had something to do with my system restore. im not sure...

ah its terrible, but im glad you got it worked out

i really need a new computer, my windows ME just isnt cutting it

christmas is coming, possibly then

Yeah, it sorta is, considering Mac has like, a tenth of the viruses Windows do. It's about 40,000 to 4,000.

My Trojan was rather ironic. It disguised itself as Win Anti-Virus, lol...

yeah, the myspace spammers use that technique

when you log in, another screen, made to look like myspace pops up, and it says you mistyped your password, log in again. thats how they get your password. i believe firefox displays warnings when this happens

The worst I've had was called "Virtumonde".

Pretty much it opens backdoors for Trojans and is the ultimate pop-up virus.

The worst of it was that I couldn't use search engines. Clicking on any links would re-direct me to a "suggestive" search engine. Eventually Avast got enough updates to finally find and get rid of every piece of the virus. I had to delete some parts manually because it couldn't pick them up.

I had a virus a few years ago that wouldn't let me install ANYTHING... It was really weird, but my antivirus stuff eventually got updated enough and my computer is okay now.

i had a virus that kept re-installing itself after evry reboot, so after seeing where the infected files where from my anti-virus(after it said they were removed) i just got my xp disc went into DOS and just deleted them manually

100th Post ......................................................................... finally :P

Just a few weeks ago I encountered a strange virus. It would close Task Manager, regedit, and some other important system functions when I tried to open them. System Restore wouldn't open, either. It also affected other things... like, for instance, if I went to a Web Page that had the word "spyware" or "trojan", or "virus", the browser would close. I tried to run programs such as HijackThis to find out my problem, but HT would close right away. Same with Spybot, Adaware (Wasn't sure if this was a virus or something else), etc. I eventually just downloaded the Norton trial, and it killed it. (No idea how Norton worked)

If you use common sense, you shouldn't get a virus. That being said, some can slip in. Use avast and spybot. That's what I use. (Both Free).

No viruses for me, I have a Mac.

Just wait. Somebody will release a virus that kills Macs.

I would laugh.

Not because I want that to happen, but because Mac users never shut up about their Macs. :hh

(No offense to fhqwhgads)

No one caresabout the Mac enough to make viruses for it. :lol

i illegally download music (woops) and as long as you turn off the connect option, and unshare every song, your pretty much 100% fine

No virus has anything to do with system restore -.-

Every virus on a computer can be fixed without using system restore.

You just need to know how to go about this.

Macs are a different story. I think a slogan was once "They just work" and they have the most issues really. When something goes wrong with a mac, you're screwed. If you need some help with program choices I can offer guidance. Pm me or something :)
