Wanna play Xbox 360? Head to Wal-Mart

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
That's right....display units are already sitting there, my best friend just told me about how the controller feels and got to play "Kameo"....

I is so jealous!! :D

The Wal-Mart that I used to work at got their demo XBOX 360 yesterday. I went over today to check it out. Man, I can't believe how fantastic it looks! I was watching people play Call of Duty 2 and King Kong and my jaw pretty much dropped. I mean, I've seen videos of 360 games, but when you see them in action...it's like wow. :drool

I can't wait for it to come out.

Wal-mart took the playable units down. They were causing interference with scanning devices in the store.

Need proof?

Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, instructed all stores to shut down the 360 kiosks.

According to Microsoft, the kiosk program, which was initiated nationwide over the past week, "encountered some minor wireless interference issues that are specific to some retail environments."

Thats funny, it would also be funny if the controllers messed with any other electronics in people's houses.

Ha ha. Wishful thinking. Did you read the whole article? I'm thinking no.

It is still unclear which specific part of the 360 console was causing the interference in the first place...and whether it could interfere with other consumer wireless devices as well. When questioned about this issue, a Microsoft spokesman was confident that it would not.

After this story went live, a Wal-Mart rep communicated with GameSpot, stating the glitch had affected only those Wal-Mart stores with older inventory systems in place. New Wal-Mart stores were not affected. The rep said the number of stores with Xbox 360 kiosks currently stands at 600. The company hopes to have kiosks in 1,200 stores by the first week of November; by mid-November, all Wal-Mart stores should have Xbox 360 kiosks.

Personally, I cannot say I know of anyone with an old Wal-mart inventory system in their house.

Not really wishful thinking, I just thought it would be funny. It's not that big of a deal. So you're right I didnt read the article. Im sure they'll get the kinks out of it, if there are any.

I have seen the console in action at my local EB Games store, and I must say that I lost at least a gallon of saliva. Graphics are amazing, and I didn't notice any load times at all.

I played it...I saw it...I held the controller....I friggin want one....nuff said.

I played Call of Duty 2....wow...so gorgeous...

The controller feels so much smoother on the grips. Yet I noticed it has the memory unit slot on the Kiosk display....for "bonus content"?? I wonder what that does....and if it can work for Xbox 1?

i played one and....

well i played COD 2 and i must say.

i didn't care about the 360 at that moment because i have COD demo on my computer that does that same thing. so meh!

I played it, and now I need to have COD 2, it's just beautiful....... very little if any load times at all. :drool

I loved the controller too, it fits better in my hand.

That's weird, the Wal-Mart down the street from my house has the console out but it was just showing informationg about the console, no playable demo's or videos, just slides of crap that we all know about the console. I was pissed! Grr..I couldn't play it, but the controller feels great and the console isn't all bulky. Omg..Microsoft is drawing me towards their console...PS3 is my only antidote.

What so wrong about enjoying another console? :lol Dont worry we wont make fun of you if you get one.

I will admit, the graphics look pretty good, but did anyone mention the tvs that the demos are running on?

I played Call of Duty at Gamestop today, and yes it did look great. The controls weren't stellar, but it was nice to look at... at least, on a 26 inch Plasma monitor. I cant imagine that people will take home their 360 after playing the demo and love it just as much as the demo (unless of course, you have a plasma hd television).

I get the feeling there will be many returns because the games dont "look as good at home as the do in the demos."

Welcome to the boards RealNinjuz. You're right, I was going to say that a long time ago, but I believe in the end people are going to still enjoy their systems. Simply because the updated graphics still look great even on normal tv's. They just wont be as crisp.

welcome to the boards :) we hope you enjoy your stay! :D

you know... you do have a point on that. It is crazy the difference A/V to S/V can provide.

BUT, the plasma tv's... some are not that great.

TOO BAD most stores will only take returns for same title only :)

†B†V† :hat

I think Kameo is the best-looking playable demo. And with videos showing Kameo fighting well over 300 orcs in one scene with no slowdown whatsoever, it's looking like a must-have launch title.
