What are the "essential" DS games?

I'm getting a DS, although when is an issue to be decided later. What games are there that are the "must haves" for the DS?

I haven't kept up on the DS much, but I think that

Super Mario 64 DS
Kirby's Canvas Curse
Advance Wars Dual Strike
Meteos
and if its out Polarium

are some good games I should get, but what do you guys think?
 
If you take Kirby off of that list, I will have to stab you to death with sporks.

Seriously though, I think Kirby is a great game. As well as Animal Crossing DS (I know, it's not out yet but I still think it's good :P)

Advance Wars Dual Strike
Nintendogs
Animal Crossing
Mario Kart DS
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Nanostray

Polarium and Zoo Keeper are both ok puzzle games, but Meteos is by far the best of the three.
 
you know.... I really really liked Star Wars Ep 3.... If you are a side scroll beat em up fan... this game is for you.

Well my sis just got it today and it came with Mario. I made my own file, and I have 5 stars right now. I like it a lot. Tons of fun IMO.
 
Well she has only had it for a day so I wouldnt know yet. What I want to know is, are those screen protectors good to get? I know some of them use adhesive which people say can ruin the plastic or something. What about the "cling on" screen protectors?
 
The screens protectors are great to get. I got mine just to be on the safe side. Some kind way while I was playing a minigame on Mario I got some typpe of scratch. I got the screen protectors for only five dollars and have carelassly used the screen to the maximum. (in NFSU2 I have to rub the screen constantly to get nitrous filled or to match tires, and trust me these games take a lot of effort to play)
 
I got if I remeber Pelican (since I have used most of their stuff before). The touch screen's once is film so it will stick to the bottom screen(it must be placed in the esired position immediateyl, for unlike the top screen one that can be slid around to accomadate the bottom one wont be able to since the whole thing is film).
