What is the difference that separates the top letters from the bottom letters?

What the difference that separates the top letters from the bottom letters?



The answer is that the letters in the top row are made up of straight lines,the bottom letters are not.

I was thinking that, but Y is made of straight lines, so that kinda screwed me up.

Anyone figure this out? I don't feel like answering so I wanna see some answers. :lol
 
It's on got lines in it if it's computerised, otherwise all text (if done with very accurate machine precision) should be perfect, therefore separating those with curves to those with straight lines.
