where is the skyline produced... and why can't you get them in the US?

They're from Japan Bv, Skylines are said to be a street beast! The car is just simply amazing! Im sure you've seen a few pics of it before. You can get them in USA but you have to go through tons of inspections, etc to get it legally in the USA. It would take tons of money to import a Skyline and get it legally, you just might as well buy a Dodge Viper or something. $50,000 - $100,000 I believe is the price range to get a Skyline, but Im not sure about the price though might be lower than that.

Edit: Audi's are expensive though. :-\
The year is..1995. *looks at his post count*

I forget why they arent produced here. Stock Skylines are pretty fast cars like normal muscle cars, but when you mod them they can be super fast.

I have a friend who's dad imports heaps of japanese cars, does them up, and re-sells them. He gets a tidy profit. Favourite car? The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.

I have my first favorite car.

My second favorite car is a 1969 Yenko Camaro. All aluminum 427, Muncie M22 "rock crusher" close ratio 4 speed, and the obligatory posi diff. But I don't have the $125,000+ to buy one.

Crud I forgot to mention my favorite car, well I have two. My first love is the '69 Shelby GT 500 Mustang followed closely by a '69 Camaro SS.

How'd I know that Dart was going to post that pic again? lol

Anyways, I remember that car in "Gone in 60 Seconds" the car was going so fast that the helicopter couldn't keep up with it! Grr..I want to watch the movie now for some reason. Only muscle car I like are the GT0's, dont know what year but they're nice.

My favorite car is a Lamborgini Diablo . I will probably never even be within 10 feet of one though. :'(
I dont think anyone is going to be able to get close to one, an actual one.

I put some Pirelli Pzero Rossos on a Diablo once. I got to drive a Viper a while back too. A few years ago I put some tires on a Testarossa Spyser. The Diablo is way cool in person, but that doesn't justify the $220,000 price tag.

@Bman, but of course I'd post that pic again!! It's almost a shameless plug!!

How did the Viper handle when you drove it? I heard that its fast on the throttle in 3rd gear, so my friend said. Also, he told me that the Viper doesn't even have a radio installed.

Diablo? Who the hell owned that?! Bill Gates?! lol

Some old guy owned it.

Vipers are small inside. If you're taller than 5'9" then your knee will knock up against the dash while shifting. The one I saw had a radio. And it was a GTS. Maybe the RT/10s had radio delete?? Dunno. Anyway, they're fast. They pull all the way through 6th. But I didn't hot rod it. I just pulled it in to get new tires. But I talked with the owner for a while.

Oh man..I guess I cant drive one of those then, Im taller than 5'9". Noooo! Well I really didn't have intentions of driving one anyways, but when I was younger that's all I wanted, Vipers, Lambos, Elise, etc. I didn't know at the time that they were expensive cars. *laughs at his dreams when he was younger*

Edit: I always thought that all the cars were automatic when I younger and all cars were RWD. I had expensive taste back then but now I've grown and realize that those cars cost more than houses.

Bman, buy an Elan then. It's about $40-50 grand. It's mostly Toyota parts. At least the engine and transaxle is. And the good thing is Lotus is importing them to the U.S!!! But don't expect a trunk or much room. It's also a 2 seater.

Naw I dont want anything that exotic, I want to actually get a stock car and build it to my desire myself ya' know? Its just something about doing stuff your own and appreciating it more. $40-50,000 is a bit much for a car anyways, I rather just get an Rx-7 and put about $10,000 into it and save the rest for something else. Im not into exotic cars that much since you rarely see them on the road.

I know what you mean. I just thought the Elise was cool when I saw it in R&T. I figured that some day after I build my cars, I'll want something just to tool around in and not have to worry about someone burying their econobox into the side of my one-off car. I'd love to have a BMW 330 Ci convertible. And after driving it for a few weeks, I'll throw a pair of big bore blow dryers on it and let the insanity begin. :D
