Hello Gamers,

When I am thinking about buying a game I always trust the creator of the game, regardless of the title. For example,if I see a game made by CapCom,I buy it because they have never let me down yet with crummy games. How about you?

God Bless

Who made the game is usually of very little importance to me. I would not buy a game unless I have a very strong feeling I will like it based off either reviews or word of mouth.

Namco-Bandai, Square-Enix, Nintendo, Activision, id Software, Tecmo, Konami, & Capcom are my bread & butter

Does it effect my judgment when buying a game? At times, yes. Since, I can't remember the least company, who makes games, that I purchase from. Bungie, RARE, and Epic probably, since they make games that are years apart in production.

I also sometimes buy games because I trust the company who made it. But often times it is just a game I read about that sounded cool, so I go buy it.

Often times, it doesn't matter who makes it. Let's take an easy choice. Harmonix has done nothing but rhythm games. If they made an FPS, would I buy it? Heck no.

Actually, that would be kind of interesting. :lol

I'm kind of a sucker for crossovers, or when a developer does something out of step with what they normally do. I would actually be very interested in a game made by Harmonix that wasn't a rhythm based game, or rhythm based gameplay put into another setting entirely.

The name of the creator of a game would only make me sit up and take notice. It causes me to look at the game and consider if I would want to purchase. It does have an influence, but usually it is only part of my criteria for purchasing games. The game itself must be appealing to me in some way and makes me want it, not for the creator alone. MegaDrive20XX makes a good list of some top names.

Some developers are well-known for making good quality games, that doesn't mean you'll like everything they do but it can help if they have a reputation for making good games. Nintendo first-party, for example. I also really like NIS and Atlus.
