WHO HATES APPLE?

i hate apple
I am an avid hater of apple and their horrible product, the ipod. I think that apple needs to get some radio and voice recording in there and then it might actually be interesting. Curently though, when i look at an ipod, i yawn. Does anyone agrre with me?

i cant stand apples my schools used to use them nd i lodged a formal complaint and protest ntil the changed them to windows based computers (gateways) but on a personal note i dont like gateways much better anyway id rather just build my own comp or get like a voodoo or alien ware

I cannot stand the exclusitivity they put on their iTunes MP4's. Why can't they be MP3's? I mean I can change them but according to them it's "illegal" to do so... it's not fair. I paid a whole buck for those rights, and I should be able to listen to them on something other than an iPod (my dad has a nano, I laugh at it xD)

Eh, I would never really want one, but Im not as against them as you guys are. I have an Ipod. I really like it a lot. Does it matter if mine is an HP?

neither do i (how are you supposed to right click?)

You hold down the clover leaf and click, it does the same thing as a right click. Of course new Macs are compatible with two button mice, so it's not even an issue anymore.

I heart iPods. They are easily the best line of portable digital music players out there. I also love iTunes, not the store, just the program. I used to be a diehard fan of windows media player, but once I switched over, there was no going back.

As far as computers go, they have been impressing me greatly over recent months. If I was to get a laptop, it would definitely be a Mac. The Mac OS itself is incredibly simple and intuitive, and once you take the time to understand it the flaws of windows become clear. The only thing PC's are better for is gaming, but that's it. If you use your computer for anything other than gaming you'd probably be better off using a Mac.

dude, ipods are awesome! I got one, I won't use a Apple computer, but the ipods are definietly the best mp3 music player around in my view.

*Spits on a Mac

that's for freezing the operating system when I was writing a paper and just happening to be listening to music at the same time

I am seriously shocked that Creepin' hasn't commented on this topic. He is an avid Apple user, and I am sure that he'll come in and throw down. :lol

I personally have no negative opinions on Apple. They haven't done anything different than Microsoft and company hasn't done. And that's survive in a very hostile market.

I think just a big problem with apple is their incompatibility, hopfully that will change with the addition of Pentium 4's and the XP operating system coming to the mac

Here I am Dart. Im extremely busy these days so I just finally got the chance to be able to comment. So here I go...

I bet most of you who have tried an apple have used one that doesn't belong to you. Do you know what that means? Other people have already screwed it up because they don't want to take the time to learn the OS properly, which literally takes only a few minutes. If you can click a mouse then you can operate a Mac. Most schools have screwed up apples, it's either because of spite and want them to crash or because they don't have a proper Apple guy to take care of them. It is seriously not that hard to operate a Mac and if any of you guys actually care to take the time to learn the OS then it would be absolutely no problem. I use both Macs and Window's machines by the way and Im in no way saying that Mac's are perfect. They do have problems like every other computer, but usually the problems are not the hardware or software's fault.

It also depends on what OS you're using. If you use anything from OS X 10.1 and below then the machine is going to be slow, because they are outdated. The software that comes with a Mac is great also and is generally better and runs smoother than it's Window's counterpart. That is if you use a machine that hasn't been tampered with.

The one button mouse is all you need. The right-click is generally unnecessary. Which makes working with the Mac quicker and more intuitive unless you use certain programs that require two or three button mice. And if that's the case just slap on a two button USB mouse and be done with it. That's what I did, but I hardly use it unless Im doing work on Maya.

Now the iPod...

I get what you're saying there, but it works both ways. Microsoft is not going to allow the iPod to play WMA's either. Also not all music stores allow their MP3's to be played on an iPod. Each store has their own type of DRM. As for the MP4's, they are superior to the MP3's so if I only had one format to choose then it would be the MP4, you get better quality out of a smaller file. I laugh at people who think that Im stuck with an iPod, when in reality it's allowed me to do more with my music than any CD or cassette tape can ever do. Ive owned an iPod since August of 2004 and it runs flawlessly. I haven't needed to change the battery or send it in for repairs.

If you want to talk about price than shop around. iPods are competitively priced. You will be hard pressed to find an MP3 player that is equal to the iPod in quality and have it be cheaper (Im talking new not used.) Like Ive said in the other topic, there are only a few MP3 players that are actually superior to the iPod and they generally are the same price or slightly more expensive. It also depends on the amount of space you want. If you want something in the 1 Gig or below then don't get a Nano or Shuffle. Those are actually overpriced, but if you want something in the 20-60 gig range then the iPod is priced really well. As for radio and voice recording, I can see a use for a voice recorder if the quality is good, but the reason I bought an iPod was to not listen to the radio, which Im sure is a reason why most people bought one too.

If something doesn't make sense or if any of you have questions, just ask. Im tired and don't really care for checking what I just wrote. :lol

Oh yeah and if you guys prefer Window's that's fine.

Oh someone replied before I can hit post. :)

The XP operating system, at this moment in time, is not coming to the Mac. People are hacking their current Pentium Mac's, but it's not going to happen any time soon and more than likely not officially from Apple. Not to mention that they are not using the Pentium 4's, but rather a new generation of Pentium M's. Which are all multicore. Incompatiblitly? With who? Window's? That's what happens when you use a different operating system. It's not really a problem unless you don't plan to fully switch to a Mac. Otherwise you can get almost all the same software on the Mac. It's like me saying I have a problem with Window's because they are incompatible with my Mac. And if that's not what you meant then I apologize. :)

Where do you stand on the argument that PCs are easier to upgrade that the Mac

I can't really say because I haven't a clue on how to upgrade either

I dated a girl in highschool who had a Mac. I actually liked it. I guess the only reason I have a PC is the availability. Well, and my wife bought it. I say blame her. :D
