Why Don't Gaming Companies Open A Chain Of Outlets To Sell Their Products?

Hi Addicts!

I heard somewhere that it's against the law for Gaming Companies to sell directly to the public.I understand that the average person can't afford to buy huge amounts of products,why don't they open a chain of outlets for their products?It seems to me that they would want to make as much scratch as possible.

It is easier for them to have others sell them for them, at least if you are talking brick and mortar stores. If you mean in general, then quite a few companies are already doing it. Namely Valve via Steam
