Wii's video resolution a problem for some?

Is having only 480p or 480i a bit of a problem for some of us?

After reading the news today, about MadWorld not even supporting 480p, but 480i instead. It bothers me a bit that Nintendo ignored that audience, when 360 and PS3 can support pretty much any video signal from 480i to 1080p.

I can understand Nintendo wants to please all the masses, yet on any HDTV I put my Wii on, the image looks foggy and blurry at times. I wish they could have at least considered an option for a better resolution, especially during the time frame that it was released near the PS3's launch.

Yet some games aren't effected by this video issue and turn out rather well. Such as Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart. Yet Resident Evil 4 looks pretty bad on my TV, when I see an ugly black border on the left and right side of it on my 32 inch flat screen plasma. Almost as if I'm playing a PS2 in S-Video mode instead of a Wii.

As I say, I don't know about the rest of you, but it just saddens me how Nintendo can't take a step forward at times.
