Is there a way to "Scan","Clean",And "Repair" your computer's Registry for free? 0:)

By registry, do you mean a hard-drive? If you do, you can run a system restore on it, if you press alt + F11 (at least I think that's the key combo), while the computer is starting up.

I'm sure he is talking about the Windows registry.

You can try to clean it but most of the time you'll end up messing something up. If your registry is messed up enough to ask this I'd say it's time for a clean install.

You can try download.com. I've been looking for one as well and there are a couple of good free ones. But you do so at your own risk. Make sure you back-up before you mess with the registry.

CCleaner seems to have a good reputation.

The registry has so many things tied to it that make your OS work that any little discrepancy can make Windows break down.

If you feel that your registry is really messed up then it would probably be better to just reinstall windows. Make sure you backup first.

Hey Man,Thanks for taking the time to get back to me,much appreciated. You wouldn't believe the pitch I just Whiffed past Donkey Kong in Mario Superstar Baseball while I was away from the computer briefly.Anyway I'm not proud of it,but even after all this time online I'm still a little green with respect to computers. This "Re-Installation" you suggested what are the steps I have to take to accomplish this without completely ruining everything?
