A boy in Laholm, Sweden was hospitalized following a 20-hour-plus World of Warcraft bender

Okay that's it, Alee, I'm watching you!! :o

These topics on WoW have gotten me into trouble in the past...so I'll just firmly say that boy is ridiculous for having played that long, and that's all I'm saying.

Word. It's like, get a frikkin life!!!

WoW... I think 20 hours straight of any game, movie, activity looking at a screen...etc... without a break WOULD cause some sort of damage.

It's called moderation folks.

I once drank 15 cans of mt dew in about 2 hours playing Doom 2 ... the next day I repeated... and the 3rd day, same thing... guess what? My eyes hurt to move left to right. Do I blame Doom2 and Mt Dew? no. I simply lost track of how much I was drinking while playing... It was my fault.

Problem solved. Thank you very much, have a good night.

Haha, yeah, anything for 20 hours straight is excessive. I remember during the summer at the time E3 was going on I spent about 8 hours a day on a computer at work, and then I came home and watched G4 and went online to watch game videos. After the first day my eyes and brain were exhausted from staring at a screen, and so my response to this was to drink more coffee and caffeinated beverages.

Bad idea.

After three days of this I had a pounding headache for the next few days, even after a full night's sleep. Eventually I went out and played a rec game of soccer with some friends despite my headache. After 20 minutes of fresh air and exercise (and not staring at a screen all day drinking coffee) my headache went away.

It's not rocket science, just take some breaks here and there. :D

No need to blame WoW at all. It's not the direct cause, rather it's the boy fault. I just summarized everyone's posts here. :lol

Well there is someone else who needs blamed Gaming Maiden his parents they definetly dropped the ball here since they let this happen and I'm not saying parents can be aware of what there kids are doing at all times but this isn't that kind of situation.

That is true. Which also raises new questions. Where were his parents over the 20 hours he was playing. If they were there when the boy was playing....that'd be messed up.

^ agreed

That was pretty darn foolish to play for that huge duration without a break! People who do this are just idiots for damaging themselves... wait... that makes me ONE!!!... but I have endurance practice, so I'm fine for that. This kid obviously had not!
