xbox live question here

how can xbox live i have a free subscrition thingy and an ethernet cable (wich is like a internet cable right) but it wont update!

someone please tell me
 
Does you modem do that "EEEHHHHHEEEEHHHHHHAAWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHAWWWWWWWWWWWWW" thing when you get on the internet, or can you use the phone when you get on the internet? Broadband is a high-speed connection that youy have to have to play on xbox live.

yeah... he's got cable ;)

ok.. so you have an ethernet cable.... where are you hooking it into?
Are you trying to use your computer at the same time?

and what i try to do is take the ethernet cable and plug it into my xbox but when the update bar comes up nothing happens. No its not plugged into my PC also
 
Did you try plugging it in your Xbox 1st?

1st, plug in the ethernet cable to your Xbox. Unplug the Modem's POWER CABLE from the wall, fire up the Xbox, and then plug the modem back in.

Or try:
1st, plug in the ethernet cable to your Xbox. Unplug the Modem's POWER CABLE from the wall, plug the modem back in the wall, and then fire up the Xbox.

Sometimes your modem has to adjust for the Xbox.

it's also possible that (if you have a router) it's not compatible for xbox live usage, but if you're not using a router... then i'm not sure, maybe even your modem has to be compatible...
