You've gotta be kidding me!

Ok, so this last Monday-Wednesday I was on a fishing trip with my cousin, uncle, grandpa and best friend. My grandpa's pretty old and I probably won't get many more trips with him. My cousin is in the military and I see him once a year at most, if even. So, I brought a camera and got a ton of good pictures with all of us. I also had pictures of me catching my first Musky ever {really big fish}. So today I brought the film to walgreens to get developed. I'm so excited to get these pics back and I get a call, caller ID says Walgreens. I was thinking "sweet the pics are done already" but the lady's tone of voice didn't sound good to me. She says something along the lines of "our machine malfunctioned and your pics are DESTROYED :'(  I thought for a second this must be a joke, like I was in denial for real, but no joke, they're gone forever. These were some of the most important pictures I ever took. I mean what are the friggin chances of this happening!?! Well, I just had to get that off my chest and I hope none of you have had or will have, an experience like this.

At least you have your memories of what sounds like an important day for you. Pictures would be great, but I guess in this case your memories will be all you have, which I think would still be enough.

I highly doubt this "machine screwed up" story. I bet you some rookie just didn't know what they were doing and accidentally messed up your film.

well its all in gods plan

I agree with this.. be thankful for the time. Pictures fade... they don't last. Your memories last forever.

Never the less it sucks! I agree :) But be thankful for the memories... they tend not to fade.

I bet you wont be going to Walgreens to get your file developed again.

Yea, I get a free camera and some film. And I bet you're right Stealth, I'm sure it was human error. Ah well, I'm over it, it's not the end of the world. I at least have good, clear memories of the trip and I'll never forget them. I sure will be gun shy now though about bringing my film in to get developed. Maybe I'll just invest in a polaroid :) Thanks for the responses guys, I needed it.

My family lost loads of pictures when our hard drive crashed... I know how it feels.

Ours could be recovered, possibly, but it would cost $1000 at least.
