San Andreas is released October 22nd, whilst Halo 2 is released November 9th. Sorry if these aren't the same dates for Euro, Japan, etc.

Well then Halo 2 will be on the top of the charts first since it's released before GTA:SA. Can GTA:SA make a comeback?

Nothing's guaranteed until the end of 2004 when we find out for ourselves.

From what I've seen, there doesn't seem to be too much of a hype for MGS3 or GT4. I'm sure there's lots of people that want it, but the hype's nowhere near Halo 2 or GTA:SA.

No one my age plays Pokemon anymore, so I haven't heard a single hype about that.

Half Life 2 is really hyped, but by almost no one in my area.

I haven't gotten that many pre-orders for MGS 3 or GT4 yet. Either the demand isn't that high or they are going to wait a few more months before pre-ordering.

The pre-ordering for Halo 2 has been going on almost 2 years, which is part of the reason why I think the hype is so big on that. If my store alone has 500+ pre-orders and GameStop is a nationwide chain, try to imagine how many pre-orders there are total. I would say that GTA: San Andreas has maybe 200 pre-orders, max.

In the end I'm sure GTA: San Andreas will end up selling more simply because the PS2 user base is larger. But the first day sales and sales through November and December of Halo 2 will be much bigger than GTA: SA's sales through October, November, and December.

All I know, is that when I was talking to the employee at my local GameCrazy, he said that if I don't preorder Halo 2 or San Andreas, I won't be getting it for months.
