Now.... Lucas has said he was done..... but there is a rumor flying around that there COULD be 3 more and that Lucas is contemplating it.

I knew there were books for Episodes 1-6. BUT.... I was talking to a friend and he said supposively there are books for 7, 8, and 9.
In them.... Luke is tempted to go to the darkside, and a bunch of other things.

Has anyone else heard of this? Could there be 3 more star wars?

You know what I would like to see is the originals remade a bit. Not just sticking extra scenes.... BUT actually redoing them a bit.

BV :hat

Yeah I heard Lucas has agreed to this. Judging from the scripts (Thanks to trkorecky) This is a pretty badass.

I dont think he is going to. Not at least till its set in stone but right now, he isnt going to. There are books for everything in between and after EP. IV-VI.

Yeah, there are books. I've read most... they're very good.

Lol mega :P

Like mini-movies of Star Wars, between Episodes II and III.

I was thinking earlier... wouldn't the actors be old? They wouldn't able to use Harrison Ford as Han Solo and such in "Episode 7" (He's in "it"... according to the books).

i've read so many of those books and comics :-\
you have the in b/w's of 4 to 5 splinter of the mind's eye and 5 to 6 shadows of the empire
but i don't remember what was called a definative 7,8,9
is it the dark empire trilogy where han/leia have the two kids working on the third? with luke going over to dark side?

Actually, there were made a "Star Wars Christmas Special" many years ago. I haven't seen it, but everyone who has said it sucked. A lot. Mr Lucas regret he ever made it.

As for Ep 7-9, I have read the books. They are written by Troy Denning and takes place a while after Ep 6. The story is something like Luke Skywalker wants the jedi to return, so he starts a jedi academy and trains people. Leia has her own lightsaber, got married to Han Solo and has a few kids.
Of course things isn't this easy, so a new Sith Lord appears. Apparently he his himself from the force just like Yoda, and here we go again.  ;) It's actually not that bad.

George Lucas will not make these movies, but Steven Spielberg are quite interested. He were supposed to direct Ep 4-6, so who knows? They have worked together before, so we might get more movies. Even better, some rumors has it that the new movies will take place about twenty years after ep 6. This just happens to be 20 years after the movies were released, so the Carrie Fischer and co might return. Then again there is the new Indy movie coming out soon, who I guess Harrison Ford is quite buzy these days.

Then again, now that we've all seen Ep 1-3, do we really want more of this crap? The old movies rocked, the new... well, don't exactly rock.  ;)

Im sure there are plenty of people who do want this to happen, so it doesnt really matter if we do or not. There are a lot of "devoted" fans out there.

The books I read are all about the jedi academy, the sith lord and a new star destroyer thingy. Not sure what it was called, it's been a while. These books are the "unofficial Episode 7-9", as in they are official enough to be rated episode 7-9, but not made by Lucas. If he wants to make a different Ep 7-9. it's up to him.

There is a big series of books called the New Jedi Order............Leia and Han have Jedi children, and I think Luke and some red head girl have a kid and basically all the major star wars characters still exist. Basically, there galaxy is invaded by a species called the Yuzhaan Vong (or somethin like that). They dont use machines, all of their spaceships and stuff are organic. The Force doesnt effect them.

Nobody can really stop them....but the New Republic (I think), joins forces with remnants of the empire, so they get cool star destroyers and stuff like that.

Its really a pretty cool series, and Lucas decided to follow along that storyline, it would be pretty cool.

I think he should just let it go. There's something to be said for gracefully stepping aside from your 15 minutes of fame, or in Lucas's case, 30 years of fame.

Yet, as always, it's all about the money. If he thinks he can make money on it, he'll make them. Do you think it's a coincidence we get tons of Lord of the Rings games these days? ;)

yah i heard that he was going to make a contract for three more star wars but i dunno i hope so because i would love to moe star wars it is the best

I hope not, without the original actors many people won't like them.

They might not like them, but they will definitly go see it. Which in the end thats all that matters. Once it stops making money is when Star Wars will die.

I don't think Tolkien is too concernced with the profit made on LOTR videogames. :lol

Seriously, George Lucas has already screwed up the originals by "digitally remastering" them. He screwed up the prequels with Episode 1. By the time he's done the series will have no shred of dignity left. Doesn't he care at all about his creation and its artistic integrity instead of its commercial value?
