3rd party memory card problems?

I normally do not buy 3rd party memory cards anymore because I have had slight problems with them in the past... BUT not as bad as my friends which would randomly erase.

Do you all use 3rd party memory cards? Ever had problems with them? IE from the Neo Geo to the present (basically since memory cards were 1st used to the present). If you have had problems, which card was it, brand, size, and for which system?

Just curious, thats all :)

the only ones i've ever purchased were those multiple page ones and they all eventually died with many pages of saves.
so I stick strictly first party since in all my years, never had a problem with one of them.
the lara croft memory card is pretty coo though :p
 
I have a Nyko memory card for my PS2, and I've had no problems with it. But I have to have 1st party controllers, all the rest are strange to me.
 
I have one 1000 block GC memory card I use all the time, but I had to tape it together to keep it from falling apart. :lol
 
mine were all ps1 cards. it'd be nice if i could use the HD a little better than just copying the mem card contents completely to it, but i guess that'll have to do for mucho space

I heard the old N64 and PSX 3rd party cards had the troubles of randomly erasing.... I did have trouble with 1 n64 3rd party card doing that...

but with the 1st party cards, I have NEVER had a problem.

I had trouble once with a third party card for the PSOne. It didn't save any of my FFVII or Lunar SSSC data. So I did the smart thing and bought official Sony memory cards. I only buy first party now and I haven't had a problem.
 
now that i saw it, i do have third party psx mem cards, but only the multi page ones have broke on me

Nope. I have a Mad Catz memory card (and I hate everything else Mad Catz, its so crappy) but it works really well and I have had no problem with it.

As controllers go, I only go first party because all 3rd party ones just seem flimsy and easily breakable
 
I have had trouble with off brand memory cards randomnly deciding that they did not want to save.

I don't recall the brands though.
 
iv actually had problems with the first party gamecube ones. my tony hawks american wasteland file is corrupt, and i never turned it off while saving or anything like that

I use Nyko mem cards for my Cube (about a year), Mad Catz for my PSX (about, what, seven years?) , and MagicGate for my PS2 ( about two years). Never had any problems.
