A felony to sell M rated games to minors.

Well employees at GameStop/EB get fired for selling M games to minors. Only a rookie or something looking to get fired would make that mistake.

i bought a used psone copy of metal gear solid, rated M, i just walked up and bought it. im only 16, and i had no trouble. i belive it was the manager of the place that sold it to me even.

Because it's not so much he is underage, for all we know, he's probably able to differenciate what you can do in the game and in real life. Mental maturity, again.

But if you're able to see those and know about what it is, then it's fine. You can be as old as you want, doesn't make you mature enough for something.

I don't think selling an M rated game to a kid should be a felony, but I do think sales clerks should be responsible and do their jobs correctly.

i respect the rating system through and through, and i also respect that parents like to know what their children are playing. but a felony?

what has this come to?

You have to be pretty absent minded to commit a felony...

Depends on the felony. In Arizona (where I used to live) if you had a gun in a gun case in your car, it was okay. Here in North Carolina, you almost have to wave it out the window in order to not get hooked up by Johnny Law.

In this case, if a game store clerk is on the phone with an angry customer, and a shop filled with impatient customers, it can be very easy to just ring up an "M" rated game without glancing at who is buying it. But the only way it will be impossible is if their POS systems are set up like places that sell paint or tabacco, where it has an audible sound that asks to check ID.

I went into Gamestop one time, bought an M rated game, and it popped up on their screen to ask if I was over 18.

Just a thought...
