Haven't played VI so I can't confirm how true this is, but I thought I would share it. :)
 
That's sad, it is the exact same storyline :lol

@Mai, you never played FFVI? I'm taking back the cheesecake until you do missy! >:(
 
i've played part of FFVI and the story does have the same structure at the beginning but it changes dramatically later on
 
They're only alike when you put it that way, they actually have a lot more differences than that.

Of course, it's the "cool" thing to bash VII these days because so many gamers were calling it one of the best games of all time once.

Oh, I didn't mean it as a bash at all. FFVII is actually one of my favorites. ^_^
