I wanted to share a simple question the late Joe Harris once asked me.It wasn't liquor that killed him,it was diabetes.I was a Chess student of his for over 10 years before he passed away.He was a smart man,but everyone has problems, his was eating 5 or so "Burritos" in one sitting. He made a statement to me one day that I'll never forget. This remark of his, really blew me away.It was with respect to addiction.I just think it's very important to arm yourself with this kind of knowledge.
It doesn't matter who you are,you can still fall prey to addiction.A good example is Keith Urban. He recently finished a stay at a detox clinic not too long ago. With his money,I have no doubt it was a private clinic, which is weird because I first heard about it on CMT.I don't know what is worse, having the scratch like his and can always buy it,or not having the scratch and breaking the law to get it.?
Anyway Joe said:"If someone asks you,or you ask yourself,Do I have a problem and you have to think about it,you do."
I know some of the topics I post may seem to be boring or seem like "Downers",but being a recovering addict,I feel it incumbent upon myself to do so.
Godspeed,
KAZ
