I've found out that PCIE is 16x while AGP only goes up to 8x. This is of course a performance increase, but I also heard that the GPU of the graphics cards and such haven't been fast enough for PCIE to really make a difference as of yet. As far as I know, there's not a situation in which they run out of AGP 8x bandwith.
Now, I'm just wondering whether it's better to spend more money (slightly) on a Pentium IV Extreme Edition at 3.4 GHz with a PCIE card, or get an AMD 64 53/fx or whatever it is with an AGP 8x card... Alienware and their dual-graphics card thing looks very nice, but that's Pentium IV with PCIE and no 64 bit processing. Who knows nowadays.

As of right now I can only name 1 game that supports the 64 bit architecture...... Far Cry..... some first person shooter that I played for about a minute......... I'm sure there will be others, but jeez, even windows xp isn't designed to take advantage of the 64 bit architecture..... now I'm sure microsoft's next latest and greatest operating system will be totally reliant on having a 64 bit processor and board, but as of now 64 bit is only good because the higher speed processors are only made on that platform.
HAHA, back to the original question......... Last I heard developers are still working on making GPUs that takes better advantage of pci express....

Yeah, Alienware, you can over clock a celeron, throw in a 400 dollar video card, and do just about as good as an alienware, seriously!
There's a lot of PCI interconnects being worked on, touted, promoted, etc. etc. PCI express, PCI X, and PCI X2 are the big boys right now. PCI is what like 133mhz or something, PCI X2 can be scaled to over 4 GHZ... And this has been going on for a little while now...... and it's yet to make it mainstream to servers or desktops......... dont look for it in the near future!!!
