Alan Wake Thread (DLC on Sale today only!

Re: Alan Wake Thread

This was an outstanding game! Only thing is all that time waiting for this game to come out and I beat it in less then 7 hrs of gameplay?? That was a huge disappointment for me. And what's with the developers making us pay money for the DLC Episodes (downloadable content). The game wasn't even long enough to begin with but now you expect us to pay more for episodes that we will finish in less then 45 minutes? That leaves a really sour taste in my mouth for any sequels to this. All I can say is that i'll probably get them anyway but I expecting alot more gameplay here in any future installments of this game title.

Re: Alan Wake Thread

Well, I viewed the gameplay and story as one thing instead of separate. Helped make up for the relatively short game.

Re: Alan Wake Thread

I think they probably would of just been better off making this a movie, and not an actual video game. It is fun to play, and the story line had me at the edge of my seat the whole way. Never a boring part. Although on the other hand it did get very repadative with the constant journeys into the dark woods. But again like I said, would of been a lot better I think if It was just a movie. Or since they made it a video game, how about we make it worth the $60 and make it last more then a day.

Re: Alan Wake Thread

I love how people still complain about games being short when guys near my age or older have to take 2-3 days to finish a game like this with our work schedules. The dark woods wasn't much of a problem, three major forest areas and you return to the town, the mines, the train station, and bridge. I'm glad they made it into a game and captured some of the best elements from Stephen King. If it was a movie, I would have called it, "Darkness 2" since most of these modern directors can't create or vision a solid horror movie without screwing it up with CG.

Re: Alan Wake Thread

As a HUGE Stephen King fan, I LOVED the King influence on this game. It was practically an homage to his works like Christine and The Mist, among other things. And they embrace it :D

Wake up kids, it's been almost 90 days. The "SIGNAL" is due July 27th (this Tuesday) and it's FREE to download this extra 90 minutes of gameplay with a bonus 250 Achievements IF you put in that DLC code that came with the game!

So if you accidentally redeemed the code early, you're going to have to wait for an e-mail from Microsoft to find out how to re-redeem the code you just entered. Our apology, says Remedy. Only question is when do those e-mails go out? Who knows...until then...

Re: Alan Wake Thread

The only suggestion I will say, is "Don't try to kill everything" in this special episode :lol It's actually harder (and this is coming from the crazy guy who finished the game on NIGHTMARE mode :P). I'm liking it a lot and it's not short thank God. I've spent over 2 hours exploring everything which is how I usually am when it comes to new places. I thought it was going to be another visit to Bright Falls, but it's actually....something weirder...something nobody expected. Just you wait and see!

Re: Alan Wake Thread

I just picked this up used for $30 and the free DLC wasn't even used! =) I like it so far even though I have only played for a real short time since I have like a hundred other games and move from one to the other relatively quickly...
