am I seriously the only Tales fan here?

I liked Symphonia, it was very cool indeed. Though the summoning system could have been a lot better. I'll get this game when I have money/time to spare. Do they have summons in this game and also if it does, did they change the summoning system?

I totally missed that earlier, so let me answer now. Tales of Legendia doesn't have the summons, per se. There's one character in Legendia who can use the Summon spirits, but they are all scripted events that you don't control.

The newest game in the Tales series, Tales of the Abyss, just came out, and it's awesome. The battle system introduces a few new features, such as the Free Run, which lets your character move around in full 3d instead of just moving in a straight line. That comes in handy against bosses, because when they attack I can strafe to the side and attack them instead. XD! It also has a really fascinating storyline that already has had quite a few interesting twists. The characters are much deeper than they were in Symphonia. I'm actually having trouble trying to decide who my favorite character is, which usually doesn't happen. Luke, Natalia, and Jade are all really awesome. I think right now I favor Jade because of how good his voice-actor is. Plus, he has a fun sense of humor.

Tales of the Abyss, as far as I can tell, also does not have the summon spirits, although I've heard both Gnome and Shadow mentioned a few times. But as I'm only about 25 hours into the game, that could change.

Oh and Sartori, seriously, any Tales promotional stuff you have, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. I have this whole section of wall in my room dedicated to Tales posters/art, and I still have room. :D

The storylines border on generic, I admit. But what rpg storyline these days doesn't?

The first two Shadow Hearts

Suikoden III/Suikoden V

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne

Tsugunai Atonement

Yeah, SMT: Nocturne does have a really awesome story. I love that game.

Too bad the gameplay sucks too bad in Nocturne. But I've never been a big Megaten fan either way.

Though I will admit that Shadow Hearts are excellent choices. But.. where's my damn SoA 2 SEGA? Sigh.

I love Tales ::D ::D ::D I have SNES Tales Phantasia I cant read it its in Japanese but its still better than English American version which you can read but its not authentic.

What with already crime in this game is. I dont weet what happens. The systems of the battle its wrapped up action. The sexual topics are amuse. Cannot be said more.

Tales of the Abyss is perhaps one of the most actiona packed to date, although the singing is quite annoying the battles (and updated look of Indignation) make it look and feel spectaqcular. Mystic artes are now what the spells are called. I have yet to play the game (because I am lacking a PS2) but I have watched countless videos on YouTube each captivating and more exciting than the rest.

I am currently playing SYmphonia and Eternia (PSP) while my brother is playing Phantasia (which they say takes place hundreds of years after Symphonia). Eternia I would say is my favorite with Reid, Meredy, Farah, and Keele. Symphonia, I like Sheena and the summons. It is so strange how each game involves virtually the same thing but has different names. (Summons Spirits in Symphonia=Greater and Primary Craymels in Eternia)

tales of symphonia was one of the best rpg games out there its so amazing anyone who does not enjoy that does not like rpg's or a good story or good fighting, its one of the best out there!

I tried Symphonia a couple years ago when i had a Cube and didnt really care for it... but i have been wanting to give it another chance... although i have already read Strubes; spoilers :lol

I've never been into this series. I've played a little bit of it in a rental of Symphonia and I just didn't care for it. I just don't get why I can't get into most JRPG's.

EDIT: Yeah, I just noticed that. Congrats on number 5000 Strubes. :)

Cause not everyone can be happy with a certain type of game...lol it's just the way it works. :lol

For me, Tales of Symphonia is on of my favorite RPG's of all time, if not my MOST favorite.

looks ok, nvr played it. :)

Do you have a cube? Or wait, you have a Wii, so it'll play anyway. I think maybe if you like RPG's where you actually run n jump during battle, you might wanna give it a shot. :)

(yea i still have my cube) next time im at the mall i'll see if there are aby used copies in for cheap (stupid re4 wii edition stole all my money!)

i have and enjoy both kingdom hearts games, and the art style of Tales looks pretty BA. i'll give it a shot ;)

You can find it for under $20 at most EB and Gamestops. The storyline's really phenominal too and it's on two discs cause of all the stuff you can do. :D

is there only 1 for gamecube? i know theres 1 or 2 for ps2 (abyss and whatever else there is) , but what about xbox? :P

None for xbox unfortunately, but the two you're talking about is abyss and legendia. There's only one for the cube that I know of, unless there's some japanese ports I'm not aware of. I actually re-bought this game twice after I beat it the first time cause I scratched the disc, then got my next copy stolen. That's how much of a replay value it has. Haha. :lol

Yeah, it was really good. I never really liked the graphics from the start n stuff but it really grew on me. The story is what kept me home from school for 3 days with a "fever". :lol

I believe on EB and Gamestop it's $17.99. :)
