Amazing Island

Ahh, beautiful Amazing Island. It's located in the Pacific Ocean, somewhere between Fantastic Atoll and Mediocre Peninsula. Amazing Island is home to the Maboo tribe, a peaceful people whose ancestral homeland is being overtaken by a force called the Black Evil. Who can defeat this menace? Little kids, of course! In this summer title from Sega, the wee ones in your house can make and trade their own custom monsters and have them compete in minigames to battle the Black Evil. Think of it as Pokemon meets Mario Party. What could be a better combo than that? Besides the Godfather meets NASCAR, of course.

Ugh. XBOX gets Otogi and we're stuck with this? Why do companies promote the kiddy stigma on the GC and then complain that the GC is kiddy?

didn't you say that no matter what... Adults need to learn to play different games :p

but I do see your point.

3rd party companies crap in the places the feed.

Well it's a Sega game, so even though the idea does seem a bit childish, I'm sure it will be cool. I mean, I enjoy the Monkey Ball games and Billy Hatcher.

And that's not how I feel personally. Sega games have almost always been good. But what I said is probably how about 95% of the GC owning population is going to react.

But still, why does the GC get these games instead of games like Otogi, Shenmue, House of the Dead, Jet Set Radio Future, etc.?

And it's different from games like Wind Waker and SMS in that they are making it specifically to appeal to kids...I mean look at how GI describes it: Who can defeat this menace? Little kids, of course! In this summer title from Sega, the wee ones in your house can make and trade their own custom monsters and have them compete in minigames to battle the Black Evil.

Because Sega is a...... Production/license/game..... erm... how do I say it nicely.....  *Person that gets around a lot*
no offense... but they are paid off in a lot of directions.

IMO... Sega should have went to Nintendo and helped Nintendo Crush the rest.  but that is IMO.

personally... I don't like Shenmue. It was mediocre at best... IMO.

Monkey ball 1 and 2 = SEGA's GEMS!!!

HA HAHA AND THERE WILLL COME A MONKEY BALL 3!!!! YAH!! ::D

I've never played Shenmue either. But I know a lot of Sega fans like Shenmue.

And the Monkey Ball games are awesome. I can't wait for the third one.

Yay! Someone else likes Billy Hatcher!

Hey, have you beaten it? I wrote a walkthrough for it, and BV is going to put it up on the egameaddicts site when it opens. Let me know if you need it, I'll post a linkie to it.

But on topic, yeah, I think the 3rd party games are horrid most of the time... occasionally there's a good one.

What the.....weird sounding game. I probably won't get it.

Billy Hatcher was ok from what I've played of it, but I had a limited experience from it because the controller I was playing with got run over by a car or something, it was seriously that bad.

I just hope this game ends up sucking and not getting heard of. If it does well, Playstation fanboys are gonna have another thing to chuck at us...

Come on Nintendo, get with it.

When Sega pitched Nintendo the idea I doubt they gave it a thumbs down. As much as I hate to say it, this does seem like a typical "Nintendo" game, like, this kind of idea wouldn't fly on any other console.
