creepindeth said:Yes there is. It happens on any retail site that has huge sales. Ives seen it happen and Ive gotten lucky a few times. The reason the site couldn't be loaded is because it was hit hard by everyone who wanted to buy one. This sale was around the entire internet for over a week, Im sure more than a 1000 customers actually tried to log on.
akuza said:you're saying that out of everyone who tried to get this ( and i agree there were probably millions trying to log on ) that 1000 people could load the page and the other 999,000 people couldn't. It just smells like a scam to me. If the server was too busy for most people, how could it not be for 1000 people.

maybe... but it can happen. If their server cannot handle the load (and trust me... Amazon.com has tens of thousands of normal customers on at any one time.) If a couple hundred thousand are clicking furiously to get in... I wouldn't doubt the problems. amazon.com isn't the fastest website in the world either.akuza said:That's crazy for websites to even do offers like that then.
