An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting.

1. This happens about 30-40% of the time I either turn it on or start a game.

2. When it does it when I turn it on, it doesn't have a game disc in it.

I've looked in the manual but I don't see anywhere at all where it discusses anything like this. Does anybody else get this error?
 
I've had that once before, I was playing WarioWare and then switched to Rayman Raving Rabbids (this happened in September)

It is a common problem however.

That's new to me and I'm a Nintendo Specialist. :lol

Ill look into it and see what's up with that but it sounds like you just have a bad Wii. I've gone through a couple of test kits where the drive has crapped out. So I wouldn't be surprised if retail units have the same problems.

Do you use your Wii a lot?

When I first bought it (which was a week or 2 before halo 3 release), it was the only thing I played for like 2 weeks straight, but not really anytime recent.

:lol I take my discs out of all my systems before I turn them off though, and sometimes I get that error when I start up my system... Weird...
 
yeah always take your discs out of the wii when you are done with them, damage can be done because of the wiis constant online connection generating a small amount of heat, which can eventually create some problems

OBJECTION my wii has always been in wiiconnect24 mode since december of last year and that problem never happened to me XD

good point...but i had TP for a long time and super paper mario too.... i guess i have to take the CDs out everytime i finish GOTTA SAVE YOU GALAXY XD
 
Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm pretty sure that's not normal. You might want to call Nintendo and ask them about it. They might be willing to fix it or something. :)
 
Actually, I'd think it's better news if it wasn't normal, 'cause then the next one shouldn't have it.

This. You more than likely have a bad drive. Fatal Errors should only occur if you have a badly scratched disc. Nothing else should cause it.
