An Impostor!

For fun I decided to google search my name to see what popped up. Amidst the various products and egameaddiction references there was an article that quoted a gamer called "Stealth Toilet." Apparently he went to some ezboard that no longer exists and took part in Joe blow's report on violent videogames (big surprise). Either way, I'm pretty sure he stole my name for two reasons:

1) I've had this name for about 7 years now, and have never seen it "taken" when I register online for anything.

and 2) He is also a gamer, which leads me to believe my accredited forum history is probably how he learned of this name in the first place.

Anyways, the long and short of it is that it sucks. I actually thought this name was 100% original, and loved it for that very reason. It's horrible to think that someone stole it from me and now there's more than one stealth toilet running amok online, and it's even worse to think that he invented the name before I did. Yet another wonderful illusion has been taken from me. *sigh*

Hey, wasn't this board an ezboard for a short while when it started? I could be mistaken or confusing it with another board...
 
There's only one impostor with my name...I am that impostor lol

The MD20XX changed his name many times and is actually a very good friend of mine in RL.

Of course I took mine from Marilyn Manson-who took his first name from Marilyn Monroe and his last from Charlie Manson. But I put a 2 on the end of my name, so that makes me special....right? :-\
 
No matter what you do, the internet is so big that eventually SOMEBODY will bear a likeness to you. It's a Murphy's Law of Cyberspace, so to speak (now watch, somebody is going to 'invent' that too). When I was on this forum a few month back, my name was '-=Conman=-'. Go to Google and look at the results for conman. So, Now I am 'YourFriendOfMisery'. It's based off a Metallica song though.
 
My name is not original at all, so other people using it doesn't surprise me.

But my other forum name, which I use almost everywhere else, grrlgamer4ever...if I saw someone using it that wasn't me I'd be kind of bummed.

And my GamerTag, Phoenix Chase, is pretty unique, so if someone else was using that somewhere, I'd be like....no!
 
well as you can imagine dray is pretty much taken almost on everything, I was surprised that it wasn't already taken when I first signed up here
