Anesthesiology

How many of you have been lucky enough to be legally drugged?

Well, I've had anesthesiology before but I just got back from a minor surgery and they had to put me under. I've never had it feel like this. Must have been new since I last had it. My rate rate jumped to about 140bpm and my face felt like it was on fire just before I passed out. When I was done they told me the usual crap. Don't drive, don't walk around, don't sign any documents, blah blah blah....

Honestly I think I'm fine. To prove it I just played GHIII and got a 98% on Through the Fire and the Flames, my best score yet and I'm DRUGGED. Granted I could have done a little better had I not been on it but honestly, don't walk around? ::)

You think it's amazing that people can play guitar while on drugs? *looks at most bands*

LOL. :lol

My point was that if I can do that I'm sure I can be walking around just fine. I think they blow it out of proportion.

I had surgery about a month ago and if felt pretty much the same, especially the face on fire part! Except afterwards I felt extremely dizzy and sick, there's no way I could have driven anywhere, lol.

Really, I guess it effects people differently.

They wanted to wheel me out in a wheel chair. I declined, walked to the car, and drove it to the door so my Mother wouldn't have to walk all the way to it. I would have just driven home had they said it was alright.

I was a bit groggy for a few minutes after. I've had it a few other times and never felt much any effects afterwards.

I was knocked out one time due to a "minor" surgery. I passed stones. They had to make sure they didn't cause any internal damage. They knocked me out for it. When I woke up I felt like I wanted to die. Mainly because I had a catheter inserted in me. I felt sick for a few days afterwards too. I don't take to drugs very well. I don't even take Advil for headaches.

Another time I got drugged because I had dental work done. I get anxiety attacks when I am around needles, so they gassed me. A lot. After all was done, I had to be helped out of the office because I couldn't stand up straight.

I had to get a special pair of braces in my back molars once. At first they just used laughing gas, but they quickly saw it wasn't working fast enough, so they injected me with something (not sure what exactly) and I passed out in seconds.

Woke up pretty sick though.

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled they gave me a unique (and pleasant) mix of valium and morphine. I thought I was fine but when my sister took me to the pharmacy to purchase the drugs they told me to pick up... I think it took me five minutes to operate the debit machine. :lol
