Any import gamers?

I was just curouis if anyone else on here imported games kinda often. In the last few months I have been getting a few games from Japan for the consoles that can actually play them. Its a little hard and intimidating to get into, but some of the games you can grab are really great and fun, even more so for the anime fans. I currently have at least 5 import games, and my boyfriend honestly has a little over 20.

I had to import Mega Man Anniversary because it wasn't coming to Europe. I can only import Gamecube games for now. I love the Freeloader.

No but I want Osu Tatake Oendan reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally badly. :(

Oh god, Oendan is one of the best DS games you can get, both of them. The first was honestly the reason I started to import games
I already know[i/] that, but I dont want to spend 60 bucks to tap circles, only 30-40$ :D

I don't have any yet, but I need to import the European version of Tales of Eternia for the PSP. I actually had a copy (got it from a friend who never played it) but it turns out it was one of the early copies that has a gamebreaking glitch in it, making it unplayable past a certain point. So I have to get another copy to finish the game.

Its not just a really hard puzzle is it? :lol

::)

Why would I bother buying a new copy if it was just a puzzle? If that were the case I'd save myself money and just look up the solution on GameFAQs.

It's a defect within the game that is found in earlier copies of the game.

Give me some credit here. I'm not an idiot. :lol

I dunno, when I was really young, I was into the Zelda's and games like that. Sometimes a puzzle was so hard that I though that the game was glitched and I couldnt finish it. Zelda: Links Awakening comes to mind :lol

Man I wish I could fix it that easy. :( I did actually check GameFAQs, and then I went on Namco's official Tales of board and asked about it, and found out that it's a glitch that happened to a lot of the earlier copies. So I'm going to have to import another one from Europe.

Not extremely often, but I imported FF Tactics for PSP from Japan, and Breath of Fire III for PSP from Europe.

Its not as hard or difficult to import games as it seems. A simple website like www.play-asia.com is as easy as any other site, and normally the games arn't to hard to understand, and faqs are all over the place for the tougher ones. (Jump Superstars was a BEAST)

Yeah, I've imported stuff from them before. Mostly soundtracks. I just wonder if they would have the European version of Tales of Eternia, though. I guess I'll check. :)

Oh yeah, First import games I got were for Super Famicom from a friend. They were Dragon Ball Z Super Botouden 2 I think and this one game where you play as a Pachinko ball. I had to take the plastic tabs out of my SNES so I could play them. :lol

First import game I bought was Ouendan, I actually bought my Lite just for that game :D

All the Import games I bought are:
Ouendan
Ouendan 2
Windy X Windam (bad game, got it for $20 but wasn't worth it)
Jump! Super Stars
Jump! Ultimate Stars
DJ Max Portable
DJ Max Portable 2
Audition
and one of the Bleach games for PSP

I just got a swap magic for my PS2 and ordered that Hokuto no Ken fighting game. Lots of Japan only PS2 games I wanna buy. :D

Dusting off an old thread? Kudos Snatcher.

My very first import was X-men Vs. Street Fighter on Sega Saturn after hearing how much it was better than the PS1 port. That started a huge craze for me back in 1999. I love imports lol

What is swap magic? I really wanna get into imports as I have been learning Japanese so I can finally understand some stuff.

Haha, thanks. Was curious to see what other people like to import so I decided to use the search function :D

@ x2: It's kind of like a boot disc, like how the Dreamcast the Utopia boot disc (although that one isn't sold)
It's pretty much a disc you put in your PS2, but depending on what model you have you need a different tool. (like a slide card, Case top mod, magic switch)
