It's always good to check and see if you need any special kind of shots and if you might need any prescriptions or if you are already on medication it's good to make sure you are up to date on your meds.Just to be safe is all.

Only been to Mexico. Had a chance to go to Panama, but I didn't have my passport at the time. It was work related.
