The NES I would strongly agree as the first home console to produce at least 650 titles from 1985 until 1994. (Wario's Woods was the final game released on NES in North America)
 
Yes, I would also agree that the NES would definitely be the one with the top number of games.

I just looked this up and found out that the PS1 had over 1200 games, so looks like it may be the PS1 that holds this crown.

I would most certainly say that it was Nintendo that blazed the trail.

The best console war was between the Genesis and the SNES, with Sega losing its way in the end.
 
@ mega, the last NES game was Sunday Funday in 1995, but that was not aproved by nntendo. Yeah, it was one of those games.

Ah, a non licensed NES game. The figure of 650+ includes official releases I think.
