I was wondering how this game was, I have owned two PS2 systems in the past, and have been recently thinking about buying another one for some of the games that are out now..and coming soon. This is definatly one of the games that has my interest, along with the announced KOF 2003/2003 pack for PS2.

So if anyone here has played maximum impact please drop me some of your opinions on the game if you will ;)

i can't even imagine it in the 3d plane :-/ hopefully it doesn't go sf bad that way
i'm sticking to garou or cvs2 if it has any kof people

I'm going to stay away from it, I've heard it's a pile of crap.
KOF MI... I heard was a good game.

SNK Vs CApcom on the Xbox was a pile.... but from reviews.. and people that have played it.. they say KOF: MI is a great game.

Where did you hear this?
Penny Arcade and a few friends. *Shrug* Maybe they are wrong.

SNK Vs CApcom on the X-Box was a pile
Hey, I love that game...

Well I still haven't played KOF MI, but I know its a xmas present..so I will get to soon enough. I have seen some really good reviews as well. I'm still sceptical..but hey Capcom pulled off a killer 3D fighter that still managed to play and feel like old school 2D with Project Justice...so I think theres hope.

As for SvC on Xbox...I love it myself..seems to be an exact port of the Neo version, only with extras..controls on an s-type pad are dreamy..no complaints here.

i didn't take much to svc chaos myself, cool characters, but it was nothing in comparison to other 2d's
but on that controller :-x. that dpad is no good for fighters.

My little brother bought KOF MI last night, and I got to play it some today. The game is actually very good, I was totally surprised! It still feels like a 2D game for the most part. All the old school classic moves/combos are still in there, with an addition to a chain combo type system..which at first I hated, but after about 15 minutes I really got into it. The graphics are some of the best I've seen on a PS2 game, comparable to soul caliber 2, which I would say is a benchmark on the PS2.

It has various costumes for the characters which is really cool as well, for instance you can have Terry in his Garou outfit or the classic one..with about 3 variations of each costume. The win poses, and match up poses are still there like in previous 2D KOF games, the game has a good bit of voice acting, more so than any previous KOF's. The only real gripe I have with it is that it should have had more original characters, and more characters in general. Its a small amount of characters considering past KOF games, and 6 are totally new characters.

The music is pretty good as well, and the backgrounds are classic SNK with several SNK characters making cameo appearences in the background. The game has some really nice animation, very smooth and fluid..hardly any slowdown at all. And the DM's look amazingly cool in 3D I might add.

I expected this game to be a disaster, and I usually snub my nose at any 3D fighting game..but really this one has surprised me alot, I'm glad I'll be gatting it for X-mas now after all. :D

The more I play this game the more I love it....
I seriously recommend any fans of the KOF series to pick this game up or at least give it a rent. The best analogy I can come up with is that it plays like Fatal Fury Wild Ambition on some serious speed, and with some VERY serious graphical upgrades....the style of play also reminds me a bit of the Project Justice/Rival Schools games as well.

Is this that game that has seriously bouncy women? :p

It has one character that has always been (since 1994) extremely bouncy, but only that one character. Her name is Mai Shiranui too btw.

should keep subtitles and main boss is kinda eh..
not bad, but when i've got garou at hand..

The boss definatly suffers from the SNK boss syndrom thats for sure, very unbalanced.
