MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
and I do mean the plastic screen itself. Since there were three models (Glass screen, Plastic, and the Majesco re-release from the late 90s)

I tried opening it, and I noticed the plastic screen itself is glued it seems.

So what is the safest way to slove this?

If you already have a replacement screen ready to go, I'd suggest maybe using a razor blade to CAREFULLY cut around the original plastic screen so that it can then be removed. A few drops of some adhesive should hold a new one on if placed at the four corners I would think.

This is complete speculation on my part though...I have never done this..but I have taken apart similar things that were glued in such a manner, with a razor blade. You just have to be careful to not cut too deep..the general idea is to scroe the plastic screen around the edges so that it can then be pried up.

the wires themselves are glued down so to speak to the screen itself, it's dang near impossible to get right w/o lots of patience, and not work the time, especially when you can pick up a game gear for about $10-20 at a flea market. BTW, the replacement screens are pretty hard to find as well.

Yeah.. that seems to be very hard.

I have actually never seen a GG replacement screen.... have you seen one?

and target is right.... crap.. the units cost $15 for a fully working and excellent condition one.

Yeah I ordered a few a number of years back from a company in florida, I think I was successful in replacing 1 out of 3! It was a horrible task, since then I've not seen or heard of the replacements anymore.
