Anyone looking forward to Resident Evil 4

I finally got a chance to see some of the trailers, and RE4 looks really awesome. I am thinking about picking it up when it comes out.

IMO the most exciting thing about it is that you're no longer fighting slow, stupid zombies. In RE4 your enemies are a lot smarter and faster. They'll gang up on you and climb up ladders to try and get you.

The atmosphere seems really intense, too. If I get it I'll probably be too scared to play it at night. :lol

I would really like to get it the first day it comes out, but I am not sure I will have the money. I have really been wishing to pre-order Metal Slug Advance and still have yet to do it.

Maybe Christmas...

It does look like a good game....the thing that bugs me is why call it Resident Evil?

They've changed so much of the gameplay style, no zombies, no Umbrella, what's the point?

It didn't have to be Leon in the game - it could've been any Joe schmoe.

They could have made somethign completely new like they did with Devil May Cry

Instead they slapped the RE name on it to guarantee a few extra quick bucks.

all game series hit a point of change after some point.

What would you have done if they didn't slap grand theft auto on the new series? It has significantly changed since #1

Ya, I can definitely find reason to call the new RE an RE title. It's still a survival horror game, it's made by Capcom, it's got the same kind of look to it, just because they changed some of the gameplay, AI, and themes, that doesn't mean it's still not a sequel.

Plus, I have a suspicion that Umbrella might show up somewhere in the title.

And yes, I am planning on picking up this gem the day of release. It looks absolutely amazing.

Ya ill prob it get it when ever it get released in europe, god i hate waiting lol.

From wat ive seen of it, it does looks good

I'm all over this game. It's looking great and a refreashing change from the other RE games.Yummy. Also I have been waiting to be able to play with Leon once more, my fav of all the RE guys.

All that reall changed was the graphics. I mean, there were new missions and such but really all they did was bring a 2d game into 3d. Was Ocarina Of Time not a Legend of Zelda game simply because the gameplay and graphics changed? Why wouldn't the next installment of the RE series be called Resident Evil? Regardless of the change in story/gameplay/graphics, etc.

Actually that's what I like about it. The other REs were getting too predictable. The story for this one is really part of what's drawing me in. I've watched the trailers and read almost everything I can get my hands on about RE4 and it just makes me more curious.

Why are the people the way they are? Who, if anyone, is behind it? Why does it take place where it takes place?

I'm pretty excited for RE4.

But all the story really consisted of was why you were working for the gangs you were working for. It was still a "Grand Theft Auto" game, the core element of the game was the ability to carjack any vehicle you wanted, and everything, story, gameplay, graphics, were all geared towards that.

Either way, that's kind of beside the point. There's no logical reason for the new Resident Evil game to not be the 4th installment of the franchise. It's still a Resident Evil game, it's just a new Resident Evil game. I just don't see what's so hard about this.

It's in the title, Resident Evil. Which means it's not set in stone that every game has to include freakin' zombies. It's about residential areas infested with evil and the mysterious Umbrella guys. It does still follow those rules, and I hear Umbrella are mentioned. No doubt it will turn out that they were behind the events in this game anyway.

Admit defeat, I think not. Ya know, I tried to be nice, and diffuse a ticking time bomb, but you're asking for it!

There was a "story" so to speak but all that did was provide flimsy framework for you to run around stealing cars and killing people. The point was that you were still running around stealing cars and killing people, just this time it was in 3d and with a bit more motive for you to do it. The fact that you were still working for gangs doing jobs that included stealing cars and killing people is enough to make it warrant a GTA title. Hell, they may as well have called Driv3r a GTA game because it completely ripped off the concept.
