Anyone play FFXI?

Hey anyone on here play FFXI? let me know if you do, I will be willing to start a new char on your server to play with you.

I used to, but then my free month of play ran out. I would more than happily renew my subscription, however I have had about 10 free minutes total the past two weeks thanks to school, school activities, play practice, stage crew, meetings, and spending time with others.

12.95 plus an extra dollar for each additonal character, my bill is at 16.95 a month for having 5 chars

I'm playing it on the 360. Mithra monk, currently level 8 (I just started today). I believe it's the Lakshmi server. My profile name is grrlgamer4ever. My character's name is Coravin. And I'm in Bastok.

I'm already in a Linkshell thanks to some of my friends. We're going to be playing tonight.

I have never played WoW so I couldn't tell you. I know there are some people that play both and think FFXI is too grindy. One of my linkshell's members left FFXI to go back to playing WoW.

I like FFXI because it's not addicting. I barely play it.

Yeah, that's true. :lol

What if I decided to get rid of my account? Would I be able to put my chocobo up for adoption, or would I just have to retire it? I wonder how that would work.

Not addicting? Lol not from what I see. I know a guy down the hall who lives with two others...he's jobless and looking...but plays FFXI for about 10 hours a day.

lol, I saw a story on 60 Minutes about a couple who stop working, and almost let their children starve because they were addicted to FFXI so it seems like a lot of people are addicted lol...

I guess I just don't have the attention span. In fact, in the history of games that can't be beaten, I always play them fervently at first and then after two or so months I lose interest. Animal Crossing. Nintendogs. Animal Crossing DS. Pokemon Diamond. FFXI.

I like games with clear-cut goals and endings. You beat level 1, level 2, level 3, etc. and then you fight the final boss. The credits roll. I get more of a sense of accomplishment from that.

I don't think I would even stick with WoW, but I'm not going to try and find out, either. :lol

The only MMO I've played is Runescape, and I hated that I couldn't beat the game. There was no incentive.

I dunno, I like it, but I always like games you can play forever and never really finish. ^^ I wouldn't say I'm addicted by any stretch, as I only play in a party once a week. I do have more of an interest in stuff like crafting than Mai does, and I usually pop in once a day to check on the stuff I'm selling. I've had this character 9 months and I am only lvl 21 at my highest level. In the same amount of time I have a friend in the game who I met as a noob (he was like level 4) around my level 15 who is now like in the 60s, cap is 75.
