Anyone still listen to local radio?

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Sure we got Satiellite radios and such...but there's one late night show on my local rock station that I ADORE on weekends!

Why does it rock? Because it's classic hair metal bands and it's always the best stuff! Even songs people don't remember from the 1980's....it's all there.

Everytime the show begins, he proclaims, "GET IN! SIT DOWN! SHUT UP! AND HOLD ON!" proudly and I tell you it's one hell of a show. It takes me back to the days when you just didn't care what band you liked, it was all about THE METAL and nothing else!

It's played in many cities, so on his site, you can search by zip code or city I believe.

Basically, what is your favorite radio station you normally listen to?
 
Oh, man, that does sound awesome {love 80's hair metal}! I wish we had a station like that 'round here.
 
I only get sucky radio stations around here where they keep playing whatever song is lamest a million times. lol

Yeah if it wasn't for the fact I was BORN in 1980, I would hate Hair Metal too, however, that was my era :lol

Yeah they play the same songs over again...UNTIL I found the House of Hair..they take request and ACTUALLY PLAY THE SONGS YOU WANTED TO HEAR which is shocking....like they played Metallica's JUMP IN THE FIRE..which I haven't heard in YEARS.

Well when we say "HAIR METAL" bands, we actually refer to anyone who had HUGE locks of hair back then and Metallica was one of them during the 80's...even though they've changed since then...
 
i used to love DSR but i don't like house of hair as much. when ever i am up early enough for it i listen to the kidd chris show. other then that i never listen to the radio.

eh, Metallica is overall more Thrash Metal in my eye. Sure when you think of hair metal like that I can see where you are coming from but, my thought of Hair Metal is more on the lines of Glam Rock.

yeah I understand. When I first heard this radio station, I thought "Glam Rock only?" yet they focus on all bands who had insane amounts of hair lol
 
I only listen to the radio at work, and then it's usuall the hits channel where they play the same crap over and over.

I agree... although they didn't play the same kind of music that is associated with that genre... they still fit in.

And all I have to say it: "I WAANNA ROCK!"

Who's we? And whoever said Metallica is hair metal is completely wrong especially since the reason they even formed the band is because they were tired of all the hair metal in the first place. Thrash Metal is where they started and now they are just rock, with some metal elements.

Although, I don't really care much for labels anyways, hair metal was and always will be associated with glam rock.

This makes sense but still, they shouldn't label all metal as hair metal. Hair metal actually has a distinct sound.

See, Creepin gets what I'm saying :) He's right, Metallica isn't...but the hair thing is why they are on the "House of Hair"
 
I don't listen to the radio much anymore. I listen to such a broad range of music so I just got an Mp3 head until in my car. One CD lasts me for about a week. At home I have thousands of songs to listen to.
 
A local radio station was at my college today, WBCN. They aren't very good. I listen to the baseball games usually on AM but thats generally it.
