Are "Download Accelerators" Worth Using?

I'm not sure if they enhance the downloading speed of some apps or all downloading activity.

God Bless,

No. In this day and age, broadband has made those programs unnecessary. If you're still running 56k internet go ahead and use it.

You can use third party download managers. Those help because they don't download an entire file on its own. It finds pieces of the file from the faster servers and pieces the file together. This way, there is very little bottleneck. These types of programs are only for web browsers.

Creepin hit it on the head. Download managers can also be helpful for resuming downloads that might have got canceled if your connection got cut.

Can anyone recommend a good "Download Helper" for Firefox/Vista?

Thank you for viewing.
