Assassin's Creed PS3 Discussion

I bought the 360 version, and I regret doing so 100%.

God-awful game, IMO.

It's not just mildly repetitive, it's fully repetitive. Like...you literally do the same exact thing nine times. Stay away, stay far, far away.

That's sad. I liked it. Just because I didn't do the same exact thing nine times. Sucks to be you.

Is it really so hard to understand that what games you like or don't like is a matter of personal taste? Haven't we gone through this before? It's not a crime for someone to not like Assassin's Creed.

If you reread my post, you will see that there is a big IMO right after "God-awful game,"

I never said anything trying to make my opinion law.

I just beat this game last night, and that ridiculous ending just made it worse.

She was talking to Strubes.

Mai, get real. I'd think you would know I wasn't flaming. You're supposed to know these things. I was pointing out that I wasn't doing the same thing nine times, where as he did. Deal.

:lol

I never said anything about flaming, but I'm glad to think that's what you were thinking I was saying, because it means I am right in a way.

If you don't want to hear it, don't tell people it "sucks to be you." ;)

You heard the lady, quit flaming boy! You're not a charbroiled whopper!

Seriously, Assassin's Creed is not a god-awful game. If you feel that it's dull, that is because you made it dull. I know I did, I was too busy trying to get all the flags and towers. When I should have focused on the storyline.

I heard the ending makes you crave more, but I will find out when I get the chance.

Now for the tie breaker, after owning both the PS3 and 360 edition of this game, I personally like the 360 edition. Sadly the PS3 version suffers from bad quality cut scenes (they look like ripped from a PS2 RE4 video, FMV style, not in-game). The framerate takes a slight fall, but it's decent.

360 flows beautifully and the intro cut scene looks like part of the game. Trust me, we got it playing on the 37 inch 1080p screens at work everyday, I've had enough time to study them closely side by side.

Yeah, one of my friends totally loves Assassin's Creed even though he also thought it was a bit overrated. He even had a professional costume company make him an Altair costume to wear to Renfair. XD! I know he's looking forward to the rest of the trilogy.

Mai, you're a mod. Try and act more like it. I wasn't flaming him. But to each their own I guess.

Chill dude. You're the one who started all this by saying "sucks to be you". Seriously, if you had just left that part out none of this would be going on! And I don't see what the big deal is, Hines didn't like the game, big deal. Whenever somebody questions your feeling towards say, MM or OOT, you say things like "what's the big deal I just don't like them" or something similar. Yet, when somebody doesn't like a game you like, they suck? I'm just saying, if you're gonna dish it, then be prepared for it to be dished back :)

Strubes, what's gotten into you? Mai does a fantastic job at being a moderator, and if you had said "try and act more like it" to me, I would take serious offense. That's an insult to Mai, and is totally uncalled for, man. I fully, 100% agree with Mai. You're perfectly fine to disagree with Hines... but that's not the problem. Mai never said you were flaming. She was referring to the "sucks to be you" comment you made concerning Hines' opinion, and was asking you to not say stuff like that as it breaches insulting of opinions. That's it. Don't make this more than it needs to be, man.

Looks, Strubes... I know you're a cool guy, and I know you probably didn't mean to be derogatory when you said that to Hines. I'm just telling you how it looks to other members. That's all. :)

:lol Golden! I know you'd all agree with Mai. I'm not stupid. But, we handled it in PM. ;)

Honestly, if "sucks to be you" is so insulting, wouldn't half of our members be getting warnings every day?

But back to the topic at hand, haha.

Please quit acting like you have us all figured out. The mods aren't some big conspiracy against you, man. If you were right and Mai were wrong, I 100% would've been agreeing with you. But that wasn't the case here. I really don't appreciate the way you're acting... quite frankly, it's uncalled for.

And no, by that I'm not referring to the "sucks to be you" comment. I'm glad you settled it with Mai. :)

Oh god.. :lol. I think you have it all wrong. I know there's no conspiracy. Lay off man, just chill out. Relax. :)

Uh...yeah....*attempts to get thread back on topic*

I may have thought Assassin's Creed was a tad overhyped, but I've gotta give it credit for being a really immersive, innovative, and beautiful game. Its tragic flaw was how repetitive it was.

Yeah, sadly I never finished the game. Not because of the repetitiveness, but because I just didn't have the time and I lost interest. Traversing a city has never been so fun though.

Repetitive? Really? I never got that feeling at all from this game.

I will take a guess and say that what you found to be repetitive was having to find viewpoints and gathering information? I enjoyed both of those aspects of the game, and while you had to do this several times in the game as you entered new areas, you almost always had new abilities to play around with, new areas to explore, and a new atmosphere in terms of how careful you had to be walking around the city. It never felt repetitive to me.

I had some issues with the actual assassinations themselves. I never really felt like I was assassinating people properly, like there was some sort of super sneaky way that would be really cool to do but that I couldn't figure out. Nearly every time I was sussed and resorted to hand to hand combat, killing countless numbers of guards and overall making myself as noticeable as possible. I'm not sure if I was playing the game wrong or if it was just designed that way, in either case, I wished that aspect would have been polished a little better.

The sci-fi story twist sounded lame, but once I started playing through it genuinely kept me interested, and was a nice way of explaining the game's mechanics instead of the developers just expecting you to understand your life bar, why you have one, why you can't go to some areas, etc.

Playing this game on a High Def projector really is incredible. I know Mega mentioned it, and he's right. Just walking around the the streets under optimal circumstances is rather breathtaking.
