Baten Kaitos 2 announced for GC

this is pretty cool... is it going to be exclusive?

AND..... will it see a stateside release?

I am going to buy myself Baten Kaitos #1 pretty soon... it is cheap, and I know it is good as I have played it before :) I am VERY surprised that it didn't get a warmer reception by gamers.

1. Most likely, considering the first was. But it might get people to buy a GCN for the "sequel" if it isn't.
2. This isn't Capcom, who don't technically believe in exclusitivity.
 
Meh, the first one got really tedious after a while, but wasn't bad. There's some serious improvement to be done on the voice acting, too.

I think I will have to get both Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos 2 at some point. I have played #1, but I haven't owned it yet ..
it is on my "to do" list :lol

Mmm same here BV. Some people say they don't like Baten Kaitos but I still want it just to try the card battling and to see the art. I'm surprised they're doing another cause' I think part one didn't fair so well.

It's a good game.... I've played it... and it is fun :)
not only did it get good ratings.... it is a superb Gamecube game.

If people don't like it because it is a card style game, that is fine.... but hey, I am not going to miss out on it. I am pretty open to game styles. I mean... we all have our favorites... but IMO all games are fun (well.. there are a couple that are crappy :lol )

Hmmmm, I'm not a real fan of the card battle system..but I might as well give it a try. The game overall looks great!

Actually the card battle system was the best thing about the game, that and the lushious backgrounds. It just suffered too much from repitition towards the end. Going to City after City, Dungeon after Dungeon only to find out you have to go to even more Cities and Dungeons. It could be argued that most RPGs are the same, but this game just got so boring and I wanted it to end.

Yeah, I concur with Retro. The card battle system was the best thing about it. It was fun getting cards! :) I can't say that the rest of the story really grabbed me.

And the reason why it's coming is because Nintendo is backing it. I guess they are trying to turn Baten Kaitos into the rpg franchise that appears on their system.

Idk...If I were to fight a monster in the real world (to say there were any), I wouldn't be like " O WAIT...HERE...OK I FOUND MY DECK OF CARDS...LETS GO!"


Idk...I think I wanted Baten Kaitos to have a better battle system. But that's jus my opinion.

:lol Nice one, that was funny.

Although the Characters don't actually fight with cards, they each have different weapons/abilities. The card system is just a way of choosing what actions your character takes. You can use them to combine different attacks or to combine defense. In the end it's clever and I give the game props for taking the risk.
