How many years a part do you think it's okay for a boy and a girl to date each other?

Well, for two ppl under 18, 3 years, maybe, but that's stretching it. If you have two people over 18, almost an age difference is fine, but it is a little weird when you get some 40 something year old and some 20 something year old...

Well first of all, anybody that's below 18 isn't supposed to date anybody over 18. That's a minor with an adult, it's illegal. But as far as just age differences, 5 years tops. And that's pushing it.

High school -- 2 years should be enough here... Maybe 3, but a freshman dating a senior is sorta weird...

Over 18 - Anything is okay with me... as long as it's not over like 8-10 years... My aunt and uncle are 7 years I think.

Under 18, two years at the most.

Over 18, it doesn't really matter. It's just weird when there's a large age gap. Personally I would try to stick to a maximum of a five year gap, but I'm not going to hold it against anyone if they are in a relationship with a bigger gap.

My wife and I are a year and seventeen days apart. I am the older one. But if I were single now, being 28, I wouldn't date any woman under 25. It's a maturity issue. I am starting to step away from staying out all night partying and stepping into owning a house, no car payments, kids, etc. So I wouldn't be compatible with someone under my age preference.

Well, my parents met when my dad was 17 and my mom was 14.......and they are still together...........so I would say 3 years is a safe age.

I highly doubt that law is enforced here in the states. I started dating my girlfriend when I was 18 and she was 16.

Anyway, I give a +/- 2.5 years. I'm 19 and IMO would feel kinda wierd dating a girl any older.

Pretty much Seniors, where I went to school, dated either 11th graders or freshmen, it wasn't uncommon at all for a 17 year old dating a 14 year old. Hell I am only 21 and it's like, when I was 14, girls looked and acted 14. Now, 14 year olds look and act older then me.

I think it's only illegal if you have sexual contact with her.

*glares*

Actually, I looked that up. It turns out each state has their own "age of consent" law. For example, 17 is the age a person can legally have sex. If they are under, then it's considered statutory rape, which roughly means "he/she doesn't know any better". In some states, parental consent is required. I know one state had age 16 with parental consent and age 17 without.

Yeah here it's 16 to marry or have sex if, uh, the other person is over 18. But have any contact with a minor under 18 without parental consent is "sexual liberty with a minor." And bet on having to register as a sex offender once you get nailed with that.

But as the old saying goes, fifteen'll get ya twenty. :D
