I wish Microsoft was as easy going with mods as the PS3 is. :-\

I would LOVE to play through this.

This is why the PC is so awesome.  It has an unbelievable mod community (especially Valve, with the Source SDK being provided for free with every Source Engine game) which gives games endless replayability (something L4D already has in spades).
