Square ain't doing so good now, though. They were better fifteen years ago.
Square, Bioware (pre-Jade Empire), Namco, Atlus.

Fire Emblem is part RPG. Though I was thinking more along the lines of Golden Sun(that was Nintendo, right?) and Pokemon(second highest selling series).

Partners in TIme was a bad game, but Superstar Saga was amazing.
BioWare, by a lot. Even with the EA take-over, and some let downs, they're still the uncontested kings of RPG's, for me.
Square Enix, though more Enix then Square cuz I'm a long time fan of Dragon Warrior/Quest.

GameArts/Working Designs is another great rpg maker that comes to mind. They have made some great rpgs over the years, my favorite being the Lunar series.
Intelligent Systems is another good one as well. They make Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, and I think they also did the Paper Mario games, but I can't remember for sure.
