Best RPG?

I'd have to say FFX. Although Ys is okay too. But the best Playstation RPG EVER was LEGEND OF DRAGOON!!!!

I'd say Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, though a lot of people might not consider that a true RPG, more of a tactics game.. I'd say it's one though.

For a pure RPG I'd go with FFX.

Okay... Ain't that a PS1 game?
Yes. You asked what was the best RPG. And then added "for the PS2." So that's why I said the best RPG for the PS2 was FFX. But then added...

As much as I hated FFX, seems to me that the best choice for now.

FFVII is all time though.

Heh..cellphone posts.

Yeah, my computer died a horrible death, so i have to use my cell phone.

My brother had a computer that did that. We blew it to pieces with our shot guns. It stopped running, and he tried to fix it. It was his first ever attempt. He broke it more. So I helped in finishing it off. :D

Okay... How much for your shotgun? I want to see the weapon that caused so much DESTRUCTION! YAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGH!

Am I the only one who actually prefer FFX-2? I've heard people complaining that you only have three characters, but in every other FF I've played I'm always forced to play through a section of the game with a character I haven't bothered with. The result is he/she is very low level at the point, so the games becomes too hard. Sure you have missions instead of a world map, but that simply means you always know where to go and what to do. Nothing wrong with not getting stuck. ;) The turn-based combat is finally gone, and the result is I tried to play the excellent FFX later, but got bored since it's sooooooo slow.

As for non-FF RPG's, I'd have to say Star Ocean: Til the End of Time Directors Cut. The normal version (released in Japan only) is far to bugged to be playable, but the DC you get in the rest of the world have fixed the bugs.

I actually have yet to play FFX-2. I don't bother listening to people who say it's a crappy FF game. I always figure to each his own. I just have yet to pick it up. I really like FFX for the PS2 though...

Well, everyone has their own opinion. It may be the wrong one, but an opinion none the less. :D

For the PS2 I would say:

FFX
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2

But I think the best rpgs I've played on the PS2 console were actually PSone games. ;)
FFVII
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue

Take it old school. :D

I like FFX, but FFX-2 finally introduced real-time combat instead of turn-based combat. I know some people didn't like that, but I found it a lot of fun. I even tried to go back to FFX afterwards, but the fighting is just too slow and boring. The rest of FFX-2 is pretty much any other FF game. It's got one of the best intro movies I've ever seen in any game, though. That intro is worth the money alone.  ;) (yes, it is that good.)

(oh, and by "best" I mean technically best, not storywise. It could just as well have been a PS3 intro.)

The fact that the battles were so fast paced was one of the only things I liked about FFX-2. I think it was a good game and it was worth the money I paid for it, but by time I was finished with it, the game disappointed me. There's my two cents.
