Best seller of 2007?

Yeah, Bioshock! I'm actually close to buying a 360 for that game.
Bioshock looks amazing. You don't have to buy a 360 for it though. If you have a computer that can run it you can just play it on that. :)

EDIT: Crap, I thought this was the E3 topic. Nvm...

I think with Halo 3 being the LAST halo, it's going to do well, like the last star wars did. Brawl will do really well, but until a SSB is named the "last SSB that will ever be made" it won't do as well as Halo 3.

Well dude, historically, video games do better, if they are a good franchise, as they get older. Think about Mario 1-2-3-Mario World then to Mario 64?
Pokemon red and blue to now, whatever the last 2 colors came out sold the best if my memory serves me right.

The thing about video games is they only gain steam and gain fan base, unlike movies.
A person can grow out of certain movies, and by the 3rd one, they flop.
Video games are timeless, even shitty games hold and gain fan base.
A person can love Mario from ages 6 to 30, you grow with the game, it goes with you, as technology grows.
Hence, the FP revolution that Halo started, is now ending is run, and it has generations of gamers ready to see how it ends.

Pokemon Red and Blue sold almost 20 million combined, more than any other Pokemon game, and the original Super Mario Bros sol 40 million, according to wikipedia. The other Mario's don't even come close to that (hell nothing does...). A sequel isn't guaranteed to surpass the originals...

Think about over the years how many people have gone back, even today, and re bought, or bought another, or bought for the first time those games. In 10 years, the other pokemons will do just as well. look at pokemon red and blue's first year total, I promise it isn't 40 million. It took years and years to reach that

is what i heard. spiderman (1 or 2, i forget right now lol) is the biggest weekend movie ever released, and halo 2 made over double its money on its first day

anyway, even if i was mislead, there is still no stopping halo 3 this year

That's what I thought you meant. I remember it had a ridiculous opening weekend sales, but I wanted to clear up whether or not it was the best selling entertainment... thingy.

I think everyone is leaving GTA out of this. Every GTA game since 3 has sold more than 10 million copies (I think. I need to find a source on that one though...), its available for both PS3 and 360, so, by November, you will probably have 15million+ people that can buy GTA IV at launch, and that may just be enough to compensate for the short amount of time it will be available for

That is a good point. Exclusivity might hurt Brawl and Halo 3 come the Christmas season. However, for 360 owners who may be a little tight on cash, they may in fact end up choosing to buy Halo 3 instead of GTA IV. So while there are something like 10 million 360 owners (I'm not sure the number is accurate, but just as an example) the number of potential buyers for GTA IV could be drastically reduced because of Halo 3 hogging the spotlight.

Good call, and if those two are duking it out, that leaves brawl to be the one title that everyone is going to have to have for Wii.

Personly i think Left 4 Dead they are expecting it to be bigger than Counter Strike and Counter Strike is basically one of the most played FPS's online i really hope its the best seller.

God of War topped the almighty GRAW 2 and Wii play, so I think it has a fair chance.

Halo 3 will be the best seller of 2007. It already has more preorders than the number of copies most games hope to sell.

GTA 4 will be a close runner up though.

Do you think Bioshock has a chance now with all the great reviews it's getting, combined with GTA IV being pushed back?

im still not sure about that one. average gamers dont know what to expect with bioshock, they dont know what its about, so they will msot likely go with halo 3
