Bioshock discussion topic

Cool, I'll check it out tomorrow... I gotta work 1st shift tomorrow, after just closing the store tonight, so I'm exhausted...
 
Oh man, I'm definitely downloading this right now. It's going so slow. Probably due to the amount of people downloading it. :D

im a bit concered about hdd space, after im done playing the demo, and i delete it, will i have lost any space?
 
Yeah, my download is very slow, almost certainly due to the number of people downloading. Not as bad as the Halo 3 beta download though.

@ Hines, once you delete the demo you regain 100% of the space taken up by the demo.
 
Yeah I'm guilty of not telling you guys sooner. The demo was released on a SUNDAY night...which is unusual for any demo to appear on Xbox Live. Usually it's Wednesday or Thursday. What's more weird, is NOBODY knew there was a demo in the works.

In all my years I've been playing games and notice masterpieces of art and graphical abilities...but gameplay and graphics together in harmony?

It's BioShock my friends.

I just finished the demo and I am extremely wowed and amazed by one of the most finest pieces of work to this decade.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here...but to describe BioShock, I would say.....2D is to Odin Sphere/CastleVania SOTN....as to...3D is to BioShock/Virtua Fighter or Tekken 5/Final Fantasy 12/Silent Hill 2 or 4

the storyline especially thrills me...it's like HG Wells himself wrote this and I've never been so sure about anything, up until now.

SpartanEvolved has told me that this game has been nominated for game of the year so far. Many magazines I have read, have given this a 10 out of 10 even.

EDIT - did you say demos come out at nights? are you saying h have to wait until wednesday night to get the skate demo!?

No not at all, see most demos show up in the morning. This demo however, appeared in the middle of the night, which is unusual.
 
It was a good game, but the demo was way too short.

From what I can tell, this has a shot at GotY even with Halo 3 and Mass Effect coming out.
 
AH!!! IT TOOK ME TILL 4 IN THE MORNING TO GET TO 25%, THEN I WENT TO SLEEP, AND WOKE UP TO FIND MY DAD UNPLUGGED THE FREAKING ETHERNET CORD!!!! Now I have to go download it again, and Mega, stop it. You're torturing me. :'(
 
um guys

i have a question, and now im mad

it was about 54% when i went to bed, and six hours later at 7 in the morning, it was only 58%!

i stopped the download, i couldnt take it any more. what was wrong? why only 4% in 6 hours?
 
No clue man. Maybe increase in downloading. I'm not sure. I personally loved the demo though. The beginning threw me right into the game. I had a bad feeling about swimming towards that building...especially when the lights started turning on :lol. I loved getting in the pod and dipping deep into Rapture's heart, seeing a Big Daddy and a whale on my way down. It was truly incredible. The amount of detail they put into Bioshock is amazing. I can't wait to pick it up next week. :)
