Price will be 479.99 and will be released end of april or begining of may. Top people have said so for company i work for
 
why would microsoft see how bad the PS3 is selling for $500, and then make a $500 console? Plus, this is all an april fool's joke. Maybe this'll come out enventually, but deffinately not this soon

I seriously doubt that the reason for the PS3's shaky start is the price. I'd be one to think that it's the lack of quality next-gen games and production issues (as in lack of product) that are hampering the success of Sony's offering. So for Microsoft to manufacture a $500 powerhouse 360 is not a crazy idea.
 
HUH!!! I just thought of something. What if this s a reverse April Fools joke? GI tells us something big and true in their April issue so everyone thinks its an April Fools Joke, but GI just wanted everyone to think it wasn't true, even though it was. :-X
 
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I'd like to think however that a bigger hard drive would be available very soon. :)
 
I think Game Informer could get in trouble for something like that. If it truly was an April Fool's joke they would have put in the Lame Enfarcer section just to cover their butts in case someone wanted to sue for false advertising or something.

I have some insider info though. We were sent an email from corporate that said that they were waiting on confirmation and allocation from Microsoft to set up a reserve sku for the black 360. So I'm pretty sure it's true.
 
Um yeah thats what i am telling you guys. All gamestop is waiting for is a number from microsoft so they can take preorders. THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE.

Considering there were no real sources and the possibility of this still being an April fool's joke is what kept us from believing you. But you did tell us. So thanks for at least posting about this.
 
Actually, GameStop decided not to take reserves because we have a limited allocation. I hope you are prepared to camp out because it will be first come first serve.

The launch date is April 29th and in addition to having the Elite system launch that day, GameStop will also get in black controllers, black play & charge kits, and black rechargeable batteries. If you don't want the system but want the bigger hard drive, the 120 gig HD will be available separately for $179.99 (I think) and will come with a cable that will let you transfer your information from your 20 gig HD to the 120 gig HD.

I just want the 120 gig hard drive. I'm glad it is being sold separately. Perhaps I will get it for myself for my birthday if no one else is generous enough. ^_^
