Here is a cool article about how close the world came to nuclear war. On 20 separate occasions :o

It was on my homepage, its kinda interesting if you like history.

I'm moving to Mars.  Who's with me?  :lol

Kinda strange, I just got done watching a movie about nuclear war when I saw this topic. :p It's a good thing noone has ever gotten trigger happy with their nukes, though.

Notice the year that most of those took place though.

Yeah... back in the 60's, it was crazy at times. They had black out drills and the whole 9 yards.

I wouldn't doubt that a nuke will go off in the middle east at sometime...

Bv :hat

I reccomend everyone watch the movie "The Fog of War" which is basically an autobiographic film of Robert McNamara who was the secretary of Defence during the Cuban Missile crisis. He says at one point early on in the film that is was luck that kept is from going to nuclear war. Food for thought...

Luck yes, but I think part of the reason is because nobody wanted to have hanging over their head the deaths of tens of millions of people because of a wrong call.

They look at them funny, someone activates their nukes. Then we arm ours. Then we have a conference and the cycle repeats itself. Don't let politics ruin your life. Not saying that you shouldn't take intrest in your life, but don't sit around in a fetal position for hours because of Joe Blow running his mouth. It's all good. :lol

After reading that I'll happily join you in that. Though, After we colonise Mars, I wonder How long it would take for nuclear war to break out and make it just as dangerous as Earth. Or do you think we might have learned from our mistakes by then. HA! as if.
