I'll have to check those out. I love the functionality of the sensitivity buttons but I don't like having to raise my index or middle finger to do it. My thumb would be much better for it since it's already not doing much. Maybe I just have bad dexterity.

You could use the Logitech setpoint software to reassign the back/forward buttons to sensitivity up/down...

I tend to run the mouse without any additional software though.

Ordering my first shipment of parts (finally), the ones that won't be outdated anytime soon. :P

I'm going to order RAM and CPU next, since they'll end up costing around $300 together as well.

Almost everything is shipped. I should have everything in 2 weeks, and then I gotta figure out how to put it all together lol. I'll take pics while I'm doing it, and post them up. I'm super excited :D

Thats what I've heard, saves money, too! And I've installed most things before, so I shouldn't have a problem. I had a bunch of friends help me design it, and a few of them chipped in and hep me pay for some of it, and I'm so excited I'm finally going to be able to play the 20 something games i bought on sale that wont run on my laptop :D

UPDATE: Everything is ordered but my OS, which I'm getting Friday. Here's what I got.

And that's supposed to say "VGA" not DVI lol
Now that I think about it, I probably need a DVI cable...

the card came with one.

btw, I've already got it built, the games ive run on it are stunning, but I don't have internet, yet, so I can't play online games.

I'm waiting on a 75 foot ethernet cable to ship, I'll have to go under my house and do a little networking :P Hopefully I'll get that done this week, and then I'm set.

75' cable? Can't you just move the router?

At 75', I'd think a wireless card might be a way to go. The longer the cable, the more capacitance and resistance builds. In other words, very long cables can make it difficult for the signals to reach your computer and can affect ping and latency.

Since you're going to be gaming from this computer, finding some way to move the router closer to the computer's location might really be a benefit.

Last time I had a situation where my computer was that far from a router, I just got a wireless card to avoid long cable runs. In that situation, the cable connection was on the other side of the apartment from where my computer desk was.

Well, It's not my router. And I don't have a phone jack in my room to plug it up too.

We're already running 5 computers on one router, and I'd rather have a wired connection for gaming anyway.

It is questionable whether a wired connection at 75' will be better than wireless.

even with 5 other computers on a wireless G router? I think not. Besides, and wireless net card costs $20 more than the cable i got did.

After you get it set up, do a speed test on the wireless computers then the 75' wired computer. I'm curious to know if the ping, latency, or bandwidth will be competative between the wireless setups and the wired one.

75' will be ok. Just make sure you don't do 90 degree bends in the cable ad that no parts of the cable are jackknifed. Always coil the excess... and run perpendicular to power. ESPECIALLY if you run Cat 6... and have Gig capabilities.

You will have a lot less throughput over wireless. BUT wireless can be convenient too... no cables can be a very nice way to do your setup. Gaming wise... the throughput of 100MBps and 1000MBps Ethernet cabling (Cat 5E or Cat 6) will provide more throughput than most wireless standards.
