C&C: Red Alert 3 Revealed

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/command-and-conquer-red-alert-3-unveiled/

EA is clearly no longer interested in keeping the development of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 a secret, what with the forthcoming title appearing rather prominently on the cover of PC Gamer's April 2008 issue. Though details are currently scarce, Red Alert 3 is likely to provide another strategic romp through an alternate history that began when a time-traveling Albert Einstein erased Hitler from the history books. The unfortunate side-effect, of course, was the rise of Soviet power and stylized, AK-wielding ladies (pictured).

The game's intended platforms have yet to be revealed, though our keen journalistic sense tells us that the PC Gamer cover hints at an appearance on the ... Gizmondo? No, that can't be right. If only EA would quit Stalin and give us some more info!

Red Alert 2 was amazing, but since Westwood got taken over (and dissolved) by EA, I just don't trust the C&C franchise to deliver. I'll be watching this one anyways.

Well, it has been almost 10 years since Red Alert 2. I think that some changes are due.

That's why I said "too much". Some changes of course would be nice, just nothing drastic.

Well of course changes are good but im saying it should at least still be really fast paced instead of like Generals and CnC3 which were like...Really slow

Other than that i think it should get some changes

EA screws up, EA gets firebombed. There's a lot of people waiting for this.
I agree.

But I will say this... I WILL BE holding my breath on Command N Conquer: Red Alert 3.

If I am right, EA published Red Alert 2, no? I was never aware they dissolved West Wood. I thought West Wood was still going to be under EA like Maxis is for the Sim City Series.

I will say this, once games get under EA, they do change just enough that it throws off many of the elements that make a game great. I don't know why it is... but it has happened a few times before.

We'll see I guess. I hope EA makes it good... it makes me nervous, though, seeing that EA couldn't keep the Command and Conquer: Generals online play stable... Even till this day there are online multiplayer problems.

Yeah, Generals was a great RTS game, if a little generic in setting, it was tight in balance and gameplay. Sad that its near impossible to play.

BTW, I think the key WW employees left after EA took over.

So ... didn't EA take over during Red Alert 2? And they ended up publishing RA2?

Does that mean Genearls was entirely made by EA?

If so, we have a chance Red Alert 3 won't suck. Then again... online for Generals is pretty bad. IT's good if it works, but it works 20% of the time. You get serious lag, and many times dropped player and and dropped game problems. Spartan, Mastermario, and I used to play Generals Frequently... we hit these problems a good number of times.
